Update on Stranger Things 7-Inch Figures by McFarlane Toys

Posted on July 6, 2017 at 7:14 am by Joe Moore under Horror Toy News

McFarlane Toys has updated with new details and better images for their upcoming Stranger Things 7″ Scale Figures. The 1st series of figures will contain both Eleven and Chief Hopper. The figures will be packaged on retro style card backs. The figures will have about 12 points of articulation and will included character specific accessories. They will also be producing 10″ scale Deluxe Figures for the license, though no specifics were given on which characters will get that treatment. Last month, Entertainment Earth had posted pre-orders for the figures. Those listings have since been removed.

From the Netflix TV series Stranger Things comes these 7-inch scale action figures! The Stranger Things Action Figures are highly detailed and articulated action figures of iconic characters Eleven and Chief Hopper sculpted from assets taken directly from the series. The figures are in 7-inch scale with 12 points of articulation for dynamic posing and feature show-accurate attires with accessories included. The figures come in a retro-themed packaging. Eleven stands about 5-inches tall, is sculpted from images of actress Millie Bobby Brown, and comes with removable blonde wig, radio, and waffle. Eleven is featured in dress and jacket outfit. Chief Hopper is sculpted from images of actor David Harbour and comes with a removable Sheriff’s hat, pistol, and coffee mug. The figure is featured in sheriff’s outfit worn by Chief Hopper. Both figures feature a stylized Stranger Things-branded display base and are showcased in retro themed packaging.

The Stranger Things action figures are currently scheduled for a release this Fall. The 7″ scale figures will be priced at $19.99 each. You can see a few updated images, featuring 3D models for the figures, after the jump.

It depends on the type of movies or shows you're into. If you like films like ET, Super 8, and directors like John Carpenter, then you'll probably really like this. The whole show is very 80's, not only in setting, but also in the way it's presented.

I enjoyed it immensely, even though there were a few hiccups, it still was a very easy and fun watch. Likeable cast, a great performance by Winona Ryder, awesome soundtrack.

I have JUST binge watched this THIS weekend!!! It is epic.

Think, the kids from Stand By Me meet the X-Files set in the same time and feel as E.T. with some Alien style horror thrown in.

I would HIGHLY recommend it. I'm not too into X-Files and sci fi stuff, but this was awesome. My son has just seen these figures and I am guessing I will go all in and these guys will be under the Christmas tree this year.

Thanks for the sum up, sounds like something I'd enjoy... I'll need to check it out!

Figures are looking pretty good too

I like everything in this comment, especially the Christmas Tree

This is a great show! I watched 1 episode when my wife fell asleep one night, but I quickly realized I needed to watch it with her. The 80s is nailed in this show, even more than some movies I have watched claiming to be the 80s.
As a kid from the 80s I felt real at home with this show. Winona is great in this! Even though I don't like some McFarlane stuff, I admire the card backs used here, and I too will be picking these up. Too bad they don't release in October when the show returns, close enough though. Can't wait!

I've never seen a full episode of the show, I've heard it's really good so I don't wanna knock it for anyone that likes it, but from what I've seen it looks like a plot padded out with "Ooh, lookit this 80's thing!!! And this 80's thing!!! You remember this 80's thing, right? Nostalgia!!!"

There's not really much of that at all. Other than Dungeons and Dragons playing a big part of the season, the 80's shout outs are fairly minimal or very background centric.

Well that's good to hear! Unfortunately I still don't think I'll have any time soon to binge it :P

Without even getting into specific callbacks to the era, the entire premise itself is entrenched in the 80s trope of a band of misunderstood outcast kids going on an adventure....i.e. the goonies, monster squad, cloak&dagger, explorers, etc. Add some classic Stephen King and there you go.

I've always said the Goonies was just Enid Blyton's 'Famous Five' updated for the 80's and set in the US.

I liked Stranger Things, but I wasn't wowed by it the way some people were. It looked digital to me which made it feel like it was modern - even though it was set in the 80's. I never saw a reason for it being set in the 80's other than some kind of appeal to nostalgia (and to get to use some great music) as it didn't have any plot relevance. I also found the show a little too meandering, and it felt like the creators didn't have an 'out' planned when they started so there are threads still hanging. The next series might clear them up though.

I know I'm in a minority with this, and I did enjoy the show, but I really found myself shrugging by the end (btw - I binge watched it).

Yeah the Hooper figure looks like an image with lines cut where the articulation would be, not like even a render of a figure.

Glad to hear! I'm really interested to see the Demogorgon. The description for it states that it will be 10 inches with 14+ points of articulation. Can't wait to let it face-off against ol' Elsa Bloodstone!!
