Kickstarter Live for Amazing Heroes Wave 2 Figures

Posted on May 2, 2017 at 7:01 am by Joe Moore under General Toy News

Last month, we shared a preview for the second series of Amazing Heroes Action Figures. The Kickstarter for the new assortment is now live! Check out the Amazing Heroes Wave 2 – 4.5″ Scale “Retroverse” Assortment on Kickstarter. The funding goal is $60,000 for the Amazing Heroes Series 2 Figures to get produced. Here’s some info on the project from Fresh Monkey Fiction:

“Transported to a strange world by a mysterious villain from beyond the stars, Earth’s most Amazing Heroes try to defend themselves from their fiercest enemies as they fight a hidden battle that could annihilate the universe.”

Thanks to over 300 amazing backers we funded the Wave 1 and Wave 1.5  of retro superhero action figure line Amazing Heroes in late 2015. Series 1 included classic Golden Age characters such as Black Terror, Golden Age Daredevil, Green Turtle and Stardust, along with more modern characters like Captain Action and Mike Allred’s Madman.

It was such a huge success that we’re following it up with Amazing Heroes Series 2.

Each Amazing Heroes Series 2 figure stands 4.5 tall, features 5 classic retro styled points of articulation and comes with collector-friendly resealable packaging.

I like some of these, but the biggest selling point for me with the original kickstarters was the fact they were mostly golden aged public domain characters.

Luckily you and Fwoosh keep me updated on all the best Kickstarter stuff. I just backed this and pledged money for the Cosmic Madman, cardback is signed by Mike Allred, that's a pretty awesome perk. Hopefully it the line gets fully backed.

They have pretty much conceded this will not succeed so they have take customer input and have decided to relaunch this later this summer as a 4" modern line.

That's awesome to hear. I might actually consider picking up a few myself now too. Looking forward to seeing what characters they do in the future too!

This could actually turn the line into something major retailers might carry. Well, at least the collector aisle at TRU.

Always been intrigued by why so many people seem to like this line. Is it attachment to these characters specifically? Or nostalgia to a simpler time with the 80s 5poa figures? Probably a bit of both? I personally loved the He-man and Thundercats figures growing up, but if they remade those in 5poa, I probably wouldn't be too interested, even with updated sculpting.

Now that they are considering relaunching the line with more modern articulation, wouldn't that alienate people whose main attraction to the line is the 5poa look?

Again, no interest at all in this, but very interested in the idea and where it's going. Best wishes to people who ARE interested, that the line takes off with some tweaks.

Some of the characters from this last series were from independent comics so I would think there would be some attachment to those characters. Since there is no way these would warrant their own line adding them to something like this seems to be a great way to get an official figure created. I really had zero interest in the Secret Wars style but now that these are in a format I collect and love I will support this 100%. I was really glad to see this was the decision made by FMF.

I am so down like a clown Charlie Brown.

I must say,Fresh Monkey is killing it beyond all others. Please, please, please stay in the 4" arena. I back a lot of KS but I have to say the FM lines have my backing at this point until the end. I put a few Gs down on Eagle Force itself and I think I may continue to up the ante.

I like the crossover body space. I see where an eventual "Tux" to go with the suits is coming from now. And the basis for others.

The options for non-major owned figs is limitless.
The Badger, Cerebus, Dead World, hell even Liefeld Awesome entertainment figs (who isnt dying for a proper 4" Youngblood line)

Did you see that they worked it out with Spero that if the Animal Warriors of the Kingdom gets funded they will have some kind of access to those bucks? I'd love to see some furry superheroes as well.

    These look absolutely fantastic!

I'd be down to get a few of them if they were easier retail reachable.
Hope they continue to do well! would love to see more of what they come up with and have rights access to.

The change in appearance and articulation will definitely draw in a bigger crowd.

I hope after this Kickstarter they can use a bit of the money to make a new female body mold. I'd love to see some Golden Age super gals in the mix.
