Marvel, DC, Star Wars – Tamashii Nations World Tour Closer Look

Posted on April 29, 2017 at 7:37 pm by Tony_Bacala under Convention News, DC Toy News, Marvel Toy News, Star Wars Toy News

The Tamashii Nations World Tour started today in New York City. It was the equivalent of an oversized San Diego Comic Con booth featuring all of Tamashii Nations products on display, but just them in a cornered off area of Grand Central Station in NYC. We are taking a closer look with refined and curated key images. What’s inside won’t be all of the images from the event, just some besties.

To check out all the images from the event as they came in live, you can visit our original story.

Read on to check out key shots for Star Wars, Marvel and DC including S.H. Figuarts, Chogokin and Realization figures!

    1. Does Kid Goku come with Corin?

    2. Interesting to see Yamucha on the new body. I wonder when they will start redoing every Goku with that one. BTW, does Yamucha come with that Saibaman?

    3. Majin Vegeta looks badass.

    4. Where the hell is Majin Boo? He's only the villain of the arc.

    5. Gotenks? Meh, give me Trunks and Goten first.

    6. I wish they would sell that island display.

I'm looking forward to picking up that Madara whenever they release him. Wish there was some more pics of him. Hoping for more villains from the line. I didn't expect to see Madara this soon.

I hope I live to see the day where they finally release Kid Goku.

Majin Vegeta is neat, great headsculpt. But I fear that they won't include a regular head. It would kinda interfere with the veiny muscle look but I'd rather get a complete package instead of having to purchase two figures with 90% identical bodies.

Also no Majin Buu? Well... buh!

More Digimans is sweet. Would be cool if they could finally get some of the classic Champions out though.

What is that Mega Man X figure in the case with the NXEdgestyles by the way? I don't think I've seen this one before. Did some one snap a photo of its nameplate?

Man I really hope they keep going and make those other Marvel Realization figures. 100% would buy Wolverine Hulk Daredevil Andy War Machine. They all look like they would be amazing.

So apparently that Mega Man X belongs to this teaser on the Tamashii webpage:

Does anyone know what this means? I've never heard of a "Giga Armor Series" before.

Yes for Super Saiyan God Goku and Kid Goku, sweet merciful GOD YES for Majin Vegeta, new Wargreymon is cool (that hopefully is the definitive version since the last two have significant factors that aren't great), and I hope one day in the next few years we get SSG Blue Vegito, because that's obvious.

    1. Kid Goku is phenomenal. When it was first revealed, it was great to see but it had awkward faces. Now it looks like it was ripped out of the anime.
    2. The larger body isn't accurate for SSG Goku but I think I can live with it if they don't decide to make a smaller body. I really like whatever they did with the hair, the glossy/pearlescent finish is perfect for the form.
    3. Yamcha looks great, I'm glad they made the longer hair, and I need that Tien now.
    4. MAJIN VEGETA. It didn't seem like it would ever be made, and there it is...it looks perfect. The jumpsuit could be a bit darker, though.
    5. SS3 Goku 2.0 and Vegeta 2.0 look so great. Both are exactly what a 2.0 figure should be, a total improvement over the original.
    6. I hate to force a complaint but they had a good opportunity to help hide the clothing split on the shoulders of SS3 Goku/Yamcha by coloring the shoulder swivel sockets orange. They did this for the Majin Vegeta prototype, the fly joints/sockets that hold the shoulders match the jumpsuit.

Something else I want to say, most of these prototypes have a pale orange skin tone and I couldn't be happier to see it. I was quietly afraid the SS3 Goku would have the darker/pinker skin tone they were using for a while (which wasn't accurate to anything). I wouldn't mind buying recolored reissues of Awakening Goku, SS Trunks, and SS Vegeta to match the 2017 releases...but I'm sure it will never happen with SS Gohan since that was a web exclusive (for some reason).

It's a modern revision of the old Mega Armor model kits with customizable armor. It's been suggested this new version of X is as tall as the D-Arts X.

Yup. They only need to release it now... I hope it includes Jindujun, that would make for a cool display piece.

Interesting. So we either get a new line with some minor swappable armor pieces or figures of the original combos from the old line.

    Very cool display of things...but...
Am I the only one that is absolutely SICK AND F***ING TIRED of DISPLAY ONLY figures? It's obvious that these figures could go into production, so why are they holding back??? There has to be at least 6-10 DBZ figures we've seen at events that are "Display only" and it's getting irritating to keep seeing them over and over with no word on production. Heck, turn the molds over to some KO companies and let them make them if Tamashii never plans to.

man wtf is up with that gypsy danger? is that a prototype because that looks horrid and nothing compared to NECA's version(s).. But regardless i am happy someone picked up the license again, although i do wish it was someone else or that NECA kept it so i can finish my collection.. oh well, might pick up these when they release.

seems like they got the details on spider-man's costume wrong, he's only supposed to have that texture on the blue portion of his costume-not all over.

That is a prototype, a Chogokin Prototype. AKA, mostly Die-Cast. It was painted pure black and lit harshly, so these shots are brightened to show detail.

Countless Heath Joker figures have led to that terrible SH Figuarts face sculpt. I had hoped the first pics I saw were a fluke. Hope they have time to fix that.
