Tamashii Nations is putting on World Tour events in cities around the world to celebrate their 10th anniversary. The first one was in Hong Kong back in February. Next up is New York City on April 29th and 30th, and they’ll be bringing exclusives! They revealed them all at New York Toy Fair in February. We were lucky enough to score the exclusives early thanks to the fine folks at Bluefin Brands, and we are kicking things off with a look at the Dragonball Z item for the show – S.H. Figuarts Kaiohken Son Goku! This is a repaint of the SDCC 2015 Goku which featured a different belt and alternate face not available via the regular Goku releases. It’s painted up in a red and pink color set that Goku is known for when he powers up his Kaiohken move in the show. Overall it’s a great exclusive level addition to the S.H. Figuarts Dragonball line up.
This and the other exclusives will be available in limited quantities during the New York event at the end of the month.

In commemoration of the 10th anniversary, TAMASHII NATIONS announces a worldwide tour of figure display events to be held in 10 cities over the course of the year.
The twofold aim is to thank all of the TAMASHI NATIONS fans who have supported the brand, and to spread the word about TAMASHII NATIONS to even more potential fans across the globe.
The World Tour kicked off in December, 2016 in Sao Paolo, Brazil. It was followed by Hong Kong in February, and coming up in April, New York City.
The worldwide celebration will continue with exciting new events and product unveilings in Osaka, Mexico, and other cities leading up to October of 2017, with the final stop, TAMASHII NATION 2017, being held in November in Tokyo — a spectacular event commemorating the 10 year history of the beloved brand.

S.H. Figuarts Kaiohken Goku Exclusive In-Hand First Look! - The Toyark - News
They should have used the new body for this version.
Not to dismiss all that went into the other galleries but I think this may be the best DB gallery on the site. That pic with all the exclusive Gokus coupled with energy effects is already one of my favorite Figuarts pics.
As for the exclusive itself...I don't care what anyone has to say about it, this is a superb release. It's the ideal variant. The colored plastic/paint apps perfectly replicate the Kaioken effect and it looks great next to the SDCC 2015 Goku. I don't personally care for the aura effect (especially since it enlarged the package) but it's a nice inclusion. I never hesitate to point out what I consider flaws with each release. This time, I have nothing bad to say.

As for the figure, I agree. The Kaiohken paint job is a perfect "exclusive" option, a repaint that makes sense, that not everyone will need/want. And it was executed well IMO.
How quickly do you think they'll sell out at the event? Just wondering because I have zero experience with these sort of things...
