Mezco’s One:12 Collective continues to produce top tier figures at the 6 inch scale. Their Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice figures have been some of the best executed so far. Today we are taking a look at Superman from BvS: DoJ. Superman features a stunning likeness to Henry Cavil, and is the best execution of his suit in this scale yet. The fabric suit features the ornate pattern with a layered super symbol, and lays tight on the figure. Coupled with Batman from the line, it’s a perfect pair for the shelves. Let’s take a closer look after the break courtesy of Entertainment Earth!

Mezco One:12 Collective Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice Superman
Overall
Another winner from Mezco. The Batman v Superman figures have all been fantastic, and Superman caps it off. The likeness on his standard head is crazy, almost every angle nails the Cavil look. The open mouth ones, standard and heat vision ones, not so much. On this one and the standard Batman, the open mouth ones don’t do it for me. Look very doofus-like, like they are making a fart noise or something. But the resting faces are perfect. Fabric is tight and complicated, perfect execution. I don’t dig the One:12 figures with noticeably large fabric, where it looks doll like, or Mego like. These work though, as do the ones with significant leather like Daredevil. That’s personal opinion though, I know some are down with the style.
Cape construction – not bad. Pretty much no cape I’ve run across in the last year or so on any figure, from any company, is great. This one works well if you flip it back onto itself. It can’t really lay flat in a single layer and come down in front of the figure without a big poof over the shoulders. It doesn’t really keep any dimension either, it lays straight down the back or bunches up unnaturally. However, in a straight-down setup, it looks great.
Alternate hands, great, no problems. Accessory – Gotham City sewer cover that breaks apart – cool but nothing epic. Alt heads – discussed above. Stand – as usual with One:12, great.
Bottom line, best DCEU Superman to date. Worth a pick up!

Pure win.

Havent won the lottery yet so still not paying that much for a six inch figure!
[snip]
Not to mention the the figure overall is just ugly to me. The colors are way too vibrant and the dude looks like he's wearing a bulky, oversized oven mitt.
Yes, as has already been said, the head generally resembles Cavil from certain angles and in certain lighting conditions, but it's more realistic to say it's an overall decent but not outstanding likeness. But - in my opinion - it doesn't qualify as "stunning," or "crazy." But perhaps the figure looks better in-hand?
Listen, we'll agree to disagree, that's all.
Oh, and so I don't come across as a totally critical wanker, I do have to say that even though I don't like the figure, I DO think your photo shoot for it was totally kick-ass! Great camera angles, fantastic lighting, excellent backgrounds, and I really dig the Photoshop effects you did with the eyes and all.

That pic of the Hot Toys Superman you posted looks way closer to Cavil and the Mezco one, IMO.
Fair enough, but it's a picture you obviously chose as good enough to represent how the figure looks in a close-up. I mean, you even included it in the batch of pics you have to scroll through to get to the full gallery, and typically those pics are the best of the bunch.

I do actually think it is stunning, and, I do think it's better than Hot Toys, especially what's shown there. Def disagree with your opinion on that one.
My thing, Hot Toys is more of the "hit it at one angle, perfect, rest looks like a Cavil impersonator". With many of their figures. With this figure, in hand, almost all angles produce a situation where you recognize it as Cavil, even if not perfect. To me, mixed with the great dead on shots, it warrants the "stunning". That was my logic behind it.
The figure looks fine... NOW WHERE THE HELL IS SPACE GHOST?!?!?!
