To coincide with the 40th Anniversary of Star Wars A New Hope, Hasbro is releasing (and re-releasing) 6 inch versions of the original 12 figures from 1977. To round this all out, Darth Vader gets a new mold and comes packed inside a “Legacy Pack” which is a 6 Inch scale reproduction of the original display stand released in the 70s. When all the 40th Anniversary packaging figures are out, you’ll be able to fully realize a 6 Inch scale reproduction of that setup. Wave 1 of the 40th packaging figures officially dropped this week, though a small batch was released back at Toy Fair 2017. Today we are looking at the diorama and Darth Vader, who dropped on Tuesday officially. Read on to check out over 60 shots!
Star Wars Black Series 40th Anniversary Darth Vader Legacy Pack
Overall
Vader: Great update to the original Helmet is on point, way better than the last BS6. Cape seems to flow better, though is a little thicker. It can poof out looking very fake unless folded right. Molding changes on the body to match EP4 are good. Gloves and boots have a gloss to them to break up from the suit underneath. My copy had a loose hip joint, so he flops into a split on any slight movement. Not sure if that is run wide or just a fluke. Overall though, this version of Vader is much sharper than the first Black Series offering, and a welcome addition to the line up. Check for yourself below!
