“Finally. I have achieved what no other could EVER achieve… I am Perfect!” Today we are taking a look at the latest S.H. Figuarts Dragonball Z figure – Premium Color Perfect Cell. This is a repaint of the original release from 2013 in “Premium Colors” which are more accurate to the cartoon look. He comes with the same energy blast and stand the original did along with multiple faces and hands. Overall it’s a great update to the original. S.H. Figuarts Dragonball Z Premium Color Cell
This Cell is a worthy upgrade to the original. The colors on the original were too muted, even then. Now that they’ve been going for a toon accurate look rather than the manga in recent releases, he really needed a re-do. That being said, the colors aren’t quite there. Close, but almost too bright. They don’t capture the exact look Cell has in the anime. I’d still prefer this over the original though. Structurally, the figure moves better. Joints are tighter, plastic has less of a “hard plastic feel” to it. The last round almost felt like it could snap due to being hard and hollow. Plus he flopped all over the place with his multiple torso joints and loose knees. This round, smoother firm joints with what seems like a denser plastic. Makes for posing way easier. Paint application on all areas was near… perfect (rimshot). Bottom line, upgrade or grab for the first time – worth it! Let’s hope they don’t announce a new sculpt next week though. :)
