NECA has updated their Alien Club FAQ and released new photos that Aliens fans won’t want to miss. First up, some updates on the Alien Club itself. Fans will be happy to know that only the 7″ scale releases will be required purchases to keep your club membership going. There will be 9 releases with about 13 figures including the year end exclusive item. That will be a little easier on the wallet since 1/4 scale figures will not be required purchases. Now, onto the bigger news! They have announced the first exclusive items that will be included with Aliens Series 11 and Aliens Series 12. We’ll let them take it from here:
What bonuses will be included in 2017?
Packed in with Aliens Series 11 and Aliens Series 12, Club members will find a very special chapter of Alien collectibles history. The 3-D pop-up Space Base playset was exclusive to the UK with certain Kenner action figures in the mid 1990s. Now, 20 years later, we are bringing this back just for the Club, and we have increased the size of the set to be in scale with our 7” Aliens action figures. Each of the 6 pieces we’ve replicated was a different “zone” of the base, like the Lab Area or Main Control Deck, and each had part of a running story on the back. When fully, assembled the Space Base extends over 3 feet in length and is 11” tall.
Three of the pieces will be included with Series 11, and three with Series 12 as part of our effort to reward the loyalty of the completionists enrolling in NECA CLUB x ALIEN!
They have released some photos of the diorama backdrop as well. We’ve added them to the post and you can see them after the jump. For more details, be sure to check out the NECA Club x Alien page.
NECA Alien Club Update - Diorama Back Drop, Questions Answered

They say in the FAQ 9 series of figures with 13 "new" figures... I'm wondering about re-release and stuff thrown into those waves. It's already about $7-$8 more per figure (with shipping) than buying them at retail but if there are repacks in old figures in those 9 series of figures it's just not worth the extra charges to me. (bad enough that plenty of those 13 new will probably be color variants and translucent figures)
Do people really like Aliens this much to warrant all this crap?
Am I missing something here?
As cool as all of this sounds, I will never do another subscription thing after dealing with Matty.
Am I missing something here?
Eh, count me in with the people underwhelmed by this. A cartoony kid's dio isn't going to entice me.

Hmm...BTW, is that a new, 100% all-black Big Chap I see, or is that just the lighting in that shot?
I fully acknowledge how silly "cartoony kid's dio" sounds coming from an adult toy collector.
I certainly won't commit blindly... I buy some of the aliens that NECA produces... but not the color variants or translucent stuff... way to much of a commitment for me when I wouldn't want several of them... and I am not into "cartoony" backdrops...
I remember going to McDonald's and having the happy meal box fold into one of these. Pretty cool when I was 4 :\
dang, bill paxton died.
Sad news. Great actor. Some nice comments from Schwarzenegger:

Seems that NECA is giving another chance to join on the NECA Store website... Haven't spotted it on their social media though. Anyway, I went ahead and ordered/joined.
NECA Alien Club Update – Purple Alien Warrior Revealed - The Toyark - News

Ha! Oh man- so glad I didn't subscribe. I knew with Neca it would end up just being a re-deco (though I had fears that they might go with the Cougar Alien or Snake or some other option... but being NECA you know they wouldn't waste tooling on a sub figure)
I wonder how many people joined? At a few points they reopened the membership so more could join. Thats the kind of thing you do when numbers are low. I have to wonder if had they had a really large membership if it would have been better or this was the plan all along?
So I just saw the entire world shit on this thing on their Facebook post. Am I the only person who doesn't hate this figure? It's a neat nod to the original Kenner line done in a creative way. Personally I always appreciate it when club/comic con exclusives turn out to be neat but non-essential items. I guarantee you the same people would be throwing a fit if an unreleased character or some other "must have" was the exclusive here.
I don’t get the anger at all.
For what it’s worth, I like the figure. Nice and distinctive paint.
I think it's crap. I regret participating in the club.
If I'd of known it would be all Kenner stuff I'd never of joined.
I get that you don't want to (excuse the pun) alienate the mass market with a restricted release that's a "must have", but even a figure with a new headsculpt, or accessory, or new anything would of been better! Ocassionally NECA has done some repaints that are clever/novel enough to warrant a second purchase (the jungle demon predator for example), but the volume of alien repaints is just too much. I just don't think this is good enough for the "reward" for buying all the club figures, and concept of it is a stretch in any case, the box art inspired, really? I hate to sound like a hater, but I'm just very disappointed.
