At Toy Fair 2017, we got a look at a number of new figures and licenses from McFarlane Toys. We see the continuation of their Color Tops Collection, as well as 7″ scale figures who do not come in Color Tops style packaging. We also have some replicas, 10″ Deluxe Figures and more. Also, fans of articulation are in luck. Our on site crew spent some time with the McFarlane reps. While the current slate of figures have 5 to 8 points of articulation, the next slate of new licenses and ongoing figures will get a significant bump. Due to vocal fan feedback (they confirmed this), they are upping their 7″ scale articulation to between 12 and 16 points as originally intended with Color Tops. There are still a few of the current style to hit, but after those, the articulation will be noticeably boosted.

Toy Fair 2017 - McFarlane Toys Figures & Replicas
Also, news on updated articulation coming to the 7" scale figures line!
Toy Fair 2017 - McFarlane Building Sets
Oh wow, Steven Universe figures that aren't pop vinyls.
They should change their name to McFarlane Statues...
Will the Saitama and the Attack on Titan figures be their typical half assed articulation or will they actually articulate? And is that Negan(?) and Glenn two-pack going to be articulated or are they statues?
I like the look of their Saitama. Hopefully he's just an early prototype and will be one of the ones released with the updated articulation. If so and he sells well, I'd like to see them do somemore OPM figures, like Genos, Bang, Sonic, and Tornado.
That Mikasa is depressing.
Why do the South Park figures all look way too skinny and tall? You'd think they would be the easiest figures ever to sculpt. Way to go, Todd.
NECA wih the claptraps, McFarlane with Tiny Tina/Handsome Jack... has ANYONE ever released the Vault Hunters?
I don't really have a problem with McFarlane sticking with their staction figures. Personally, I don't play with them and I really don't think they are targeting kids (not that adults don't sometimes "play" with their figures) They are bought for my collection for the sole purpose of their shelf presence. It's what they did well, very well, in the 2000's. The difference now is the lack of dynamic posing. It seems like every figure now is just more or less standing up right...a casual pose for the camera, if you will. The dynamic poses of old are what keep the old Spawn, etc. figures so appealing even after all these years.
And yes, give us more One Punch Man!!
Just read that Genos has been confirmed to be in development alongside Saitama, so we'll at least get the main two OPM characters from them.
Also read that they've apparently hinted at doing a Ghost in the Shell Major figure, supposedly one based on the live-action movie. I was kinda hopinf Neca would make a figure of her, but I'll take what I can get. Hopefully if they're actually making her she'll have the updated articulation.
