Today we are taking a look at the two latest Batman V Superman figures from Mafex – Armored Batman and Wonder Woman. These join the first releases of Batman and Superman. These figures join the growing Mafex line of of DC movie figures, their Dark Knight offerings were some of the best. Each of these are structurally better than the earlier BVS releases. Let’s take a look at both with some additional thoughts after the break, over 80 pics courtesy of site sponsor Entertainment Earth!

Mafex Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice Armored Batman and Wonder Woman
Overall
This round was considerably better than the first set of regular Batman and Superman from Mafex. The construction is tighter, less floppy. Sculpt and paint is great everywhere on the bodies. Wonder Woman’s face sculpt is a bit off, a tad too full in the face. Paint application on Wonder Woman’s face is basic, with overly full lips and eye work that gets lost. Batman’s head fares better, but as with the first 2, the skin tone is way on the orange side like they’ve been tanning in Cabo for a month. Overall Armored Batman is pretty solid, holds it’s own with the other 2 on the market, but as with all of them, the cape material choice is questionable. None of the 3 got it quite right.
There are more BVS items coming – possibly from DC Collectibles DC Films line, Mezco will have a WW in One:12 scale. S.H. Figuarts is getting into DC Films, but no major plans for BVS yet. And we have the Wonder Woman movie dropping this year so we’ll probably get a similar figure from all those companies again there. Armored Batman – he’s out in 3 forms now, and all have pros and cons. I suggest taking a look at each and picking your poison. :). Read on to check them out for yourself and head on over to EE to grab your pieces!

How tall is Superman compared to Batman? In the movie Batman was a few inches taller but the figures look like they've swapped heights. Superman looks like he could almost fit into 7" scale.
They are about the same height....

Great gallery, Tony!! Thanx for your work.
That Batman looks absolutely fantastic, the cape on Supes is not very good but the likeness to Henry Cavill is great, too bad the joints are loose.
I have the Knightmare version & Wonder Woman on preorder, I can't wait to get them but I hope Medicom will fix this joints issue.
Hmm. Mafex still suffering from loose issues?
From first hard experience, I purchased two copies of Superman, the first I opened was very loose, I tried applying Polish floor on the joints it worked however one of the joints got too hinged and went broken, Purchased a replacement thankfully, the joints are not that loose, but the best rule with Mafex is prepare yourself for surprises, its not reliable, which depreciates its value as a whole.
I got both and neither suffers from especially loose joints. And Superman's cape isn't that bad if you work it right. For non-wind blowing poses, I suggest folding the bottom of the cape instead of bunching it up like it comes.
These LOOK really good. Think Future acrylic floor sealant would work to fix these?
Armored Batman and Wonder Woman are up!
