Next up in our look at the most recent Black Series wave is Sabine Wren from Star Wars Rebels. Sabine, along with Kanan and Ahsoka last year are Black Series interpretations of the characters, a little less cartoony than their appearances on the show. All three have been fantastic entries into the line. Let’s take a look at Sabine and her colorful armor after the break courtesy of Dorksidetoys!

Overall Thoughts
Another solid Rebels entry to the line. I think these have hit the mark for me for an odd reason, especially since I am aware of it – they don’t have a point of reference to fail at. Whenever movie based figures get released, our first inclination is to judge it based on how they looked in the movie, and the actor’s face. Most often, a 20 dollar figure can’t live up to that. These Rebels offerings, and even Darth Revan, are coming from CGI or cartoon references, so the Black Series rendering of them is parallel or a step up in the detail department. On top of that, all 3 have had more complex sculpt and paint. Sabine here has a TON of paint, all well applied, on almost every part. I’m super happy with it and hope they continue the Rebels line up in this form over time.

First up, Leia. Very weird doing this now, I literally pulled her out of the case box on the day it happened.

Comically oversized soft goods clothing? Check.
Absolutely the worst Princess Leia head sculpt + paint since the first 90's PotF Leia? Check.
This figure looks like a dumpster fire, which is pretty unfortunate considering that there may be more demand for a decent looking Leia figure in light of recent events.
I keep hoping Hasbro will eventually learn their lesson and realize that they can't pull off soft goods, but I'm starting to think that day will never come. Oh well. Maybe SH Figuarts will do one of these some day.
You know, I was thinking about buying her, but I'll just wait for the Figuarts to come out instead. That figure is horrible looking.
Yeah, Leia's "generous" face sculpt looks like she's been pounding down Twinkies non-stop to fight boredom on long interstellar voyages. She looks f'in terrible and with the circus tent she's wearing she's hands-down the worst Leia figure in ages.

But hey, it's spot-on fodder for a Fifth Element custom:
Also, what happened to the Obi-Wan gallery? It was up this morning. Did someone jump the gun on positing that and had it taken down?
It looked good to me! Looking forward to seeing it back up.
LOL @ Dolemite

They should've went with a more generic, attractive female face instead of trying to force (no pun intended) a specific likeness. Even repainted, this doesn't really work.
I know nothing of Darth Revan, but that is one sweet-ass figure.

Thanks Joe.
Yeah, pretty boss figure. Never played game or know much anything about this guy, but as a figure it's pretty bad ass.
Darth Revan looks amazing, but it feels like it will be very difficult to get the single figure. I am on the hunt, but maybe I started to early.
Revan!!! I'm a straight up drooling fanboy for this guy and therefor I love the shit out of this toy!

Aw man, Revan looks so great, but since I didn't really log any substantial amount of time on KotOR, I lack any sort of "connection" to him and don't feel as if I need him in my collection, but he looks so cool that I know for sure I won't be able to pass on him.

Back when the TVC Bastilla Shan first hit stores, I managed to spot her, but being largely indifferent to KotOR, I decided to earn some karma points and play "Catch and release", and left her for someone who would appreciate her more than me.
With Revan, I know I won't have that sort of self-control, so I hope that the KotOR fans in the area continue to spot him before I do

Sabine is up. More hotness from this wave.

My hotness reference was to figure heat
That accessory, not sure. I'm guessing it's a show related tool doohicky.

I was going to pass because I feel no connection with the Rebels TV series (aside from Ahsoka) but that badass shot makes me want to buy the figure. Tony... you are so evil
