The card back for the Predator Series 17 AvP Youngblood Predator has been released by NECA. The card also gives fans a look at the new bio for the upcoming figure. Series 17 will also contain the Serpent Hunter Predator and the Elder Predator. More details on the next wave:
NECA’s longest running action figure line continues! Series 17 features even more action figure debuts from the Alien vs. Predator movie and video game.
The assortment includes Youngblood and Elder from the 2004 movie, and Serpent Hunter from the 2010 video game. Elder Predator wears a regal soft goods cape with real chain and comes with a removable mask and staff accessory. Youngblood Predator features dual wrist blades and comes with a staff with impaled Xenomorph head. The frequently requested Serpent Hunter Predator (also known as Alien Head Predator) features a unique, Xenomorph-inspired bio mask, dual extendable wrist blades, and sword and shuriken accessories. We’ve paid close attention to detail to make these as accurate to the movie and game as possible.
Each stands 8.25” tall and has over 30 points of articulation. As an added bonus, Elder and Youngblood’s hands and blades are removable and compatible with other AvP Predators. Blister card packaging.
The figures should be available early next year. You can see the full card back by clicking the banner image.
Tease of Upcoming Predator Series 17 Figures by NECA

The Predator in the center with the cape is not the Predator Elder from P2, but the Predator Elder that makes a cameo appearance at the end of AVP.
From the looks of things, he's wearing his bio-mask, which was never worn by the character in the film outside it appearing on his shoulder as a part of his armor. I hope that the mask will either be removable, or that he comes with an alternate head to recreate that look, as while I didn't care much for the look of the Elder in that film, I did like the way he carried his unique looking mask like that.
As for the other, possibly new Predators in the shot, I have the feeling that they'll just be additional temple guards or ancients. Either that, or the two Predators that were tasked with taking away Scar's body at the end of the film. Wolf could also be a possibility just so they can get him out of the way without creating an entirely new series of Predators (since he technically would fit in with the first AVP film considering AVP:R is supposed to take place moments after the first one ends,) but his armor is entirely different from the rest of the AVP armor sets, in look and design.

I thought it was just the McFarlane figure that made him wear the mask like decorative armor on his shoulder, in the movie he's just holding it in his arm.
If those are new, previously unseen AvP Preds at the back, the only thing I can think off is the PredAlien-killed crew that picked up Scar. If they had decent masks and/or enough film production variation, fair enough, but there's already an awful lot of very similar AVP figures becoming available.

I didn't mind the cape honestly...to me it signifies royalty (as capes tend to in many of our own human cultures) so it didn't bother me so much. What did bother me with his look though...were those eyes....
Those derpy, stupid, and oh so human looking eyes......
Seriously. I've seen guys in gorilla suits look more convincing...
Wow. He's kinda goofy looking up close.
I didn't mind the porcupine quills, and the mandibles are a bit over-exaggerated (as they were for all the Predators in the film, which NECA thankfully corrected,) it always came down to the eyes. They don't look anything like the eyes of Predators in the past. They must have run out of money in the budget for contact lenses or something, because when you look into them, you no longer see a monster, you see a guy in a suit. And with the already ridiculous proportions the Predators had in that film, it just made the illusion even worse.
People can hate on it all they want...but thank god for AVP:R getting things back on track with the look of the yautja, because the predators were heading into Robocop territory. That franchise still hasn't recovered.
With regards to the cape, I look at it as him potentially being a clan leader, with many of them being very individualistic/bonkers if wider canon is anything to go by. Hell, even some of the members were eccentric by Predator standards! (Predator 2's Lost Tribe for instance)
The clans range drastically in size too. That dude had a small army IIRC.
Now I had tweeted neca on what other predators we might get so I asked when are we getting a new wolf predator and they said 2017 so that might be the seventh figure in the background.
Do u think one of them is the wolf predator scheduled for 2017 because I tweeted them asking when will we get a new fully articulated wolf predator they replied 2017 so that can possibly be the prodigal son to the neca avp predator wave.....finally

I for one am really hoping that they will produce the Predalien with super articulation... they have made most of the others from the movies.
I have the McFarlane one, but is is have very limited articulation.
Here's hoping

I really want that Predator on the left with the Xeno mask. So creepy-looking.
I really like how NECA make boring characters more interesting simply by creating these little bios.

Brilliant. I wondered if all the youngsters had that look before earning their place as it were, but apparently this dude's an ace...
