odd choice...for a guy in ONE game...
I hope his lack of popularity doesn't hurt sales for the line...
i can think of 15 different characters off the top that SEEM like they would be better sellers than this guy..

the ONLY reason I'd buy this is to complete the line..and with SF..i would complete the line..

looks cool ..even though the colors are drab...

Man this was a gut punch as I was hoping Figuarts were sticking to the original characters, I get that Capcom wants to push its newest game, it just sucks that it was the least exciting of the series. I hope they don't give older characters their SFV look as Storm is already filling that hole.

Oh well fingers crossed that they only make the SFV characters that appeared in that game and give us classic renditions of the rest of the crew.

Rashid is actually a lot more popular than you guys think he is. I'm sure enough of his fans will buy him. I hope they announce another character next month.

Oh I'm not hating on Rashid. I just don't like we are seeing SFV figures so soon from figuarts. I was hoping for a mix of old and new, but assumed old would come first.

When I saw the background behind Chun Li and Ryu I figured they were going with that route. It should be fine though since there's plenty of classic characters in the roster any way.

I'm not at all surprised that Rashid is one of the first - he's essentially the closest thing SFV has to an overall storyline protagonist.

The upside to releasing this line is that we can't have more than one Ryu release with the exception of Evil Ryu. So if these line really goes thru, O'man, O'man. Its going to be a bonanza. This will totally defeat SOTA's line.** Crossing fingers**.

I am a little confused by some of the comments here. I see people wanting classic characters but usually everytime a company starts a Street Fighter line we always get a Ryu or Chun li and people complain "oh boy another Ryu" but here comes a brand new character and folks still aren't happy. One of the main reasons the Kick Starter figures didn't takeoff because people were complaining about "another Ryu". I'm personally happy to see another SF line although I don't think these ones are that great looking and have my money on Storm Collectibles. Just glad they're putting out different characters or at least one.

The point is that people want the whole classic roster. They're tired of a line only doing the really main characters and then stopping. This character is a new character from Street Fighter V, not the most popular Street Fighter game to most people, and a character that didn't exist until earlier this year and thus, not a character all that many people care to get a figure of at the moment. They want a line to go beyond Ryu, Ken and Chun-Li, but they also don't much care for all of the new characters introduced in the most recent game. They want classic, recognizable characters, characters they have some attachment to.

I get where you're coming from. For instance a character like Charlie could be released but since its under the Street Fighter 5 banner he'll be rocking his new Frankensteinesque design (which although makes sense for the story of the game) that many people aren't fond of. Including myself. I don't hate it and if a figure comes out through Storm I'll definitely buy it because Charlie is one of my favorite characters. Ultimately I'm a huge fan of this property and it just bothers me that we haven't had a SF line as extensive as SOTAS . I was young and in Middle school and High school when those came out. I didn't have the funds for figures like I do now and missed out on 80% of the SOTA line. Its just frustrating sometimes

I feel like I'm the only one looking forward to Rashid. I would have liked an M. Bison more, but I'm happy to see some new characters get attention.

Plus, if this does well, we may get them to make Darkstalkers.

Or maybe even go back to KOF and not fail.

The Kickstarter from Capo Toys failed because during its initial run, it was ONLY for Ryu, with some of the weakest unlocks you could think of. Then came the back pedaling promises and questionable marketing strategies, (such as kickstarters for each individual figure) as many of us interested in the line thought it was going to be a fully developed line as it was shown off at various shows such as SDCC and Toy Fair, only to be told afterwards that it was a project we were going to have to fund all along. It was an absolute mess.

As for the desires for classic characters only to gripe when we get Ryu, it's simply because in the original SF2 series, there were 16 characters (17 if you include Akuma) yet developers seem content to only give us five of them, and it's almost always the same five (Ryu, Ken, Chun, Guile, and Akuma.) There are plenty of other characters with huge followings (such as Sagat, Blanka, Vega and Cammy for example) and still yet, a character that to this day has still never been done that is a gaping hole in many SF fans collection (Dee Jay.) Yet every time, it's the fab 5 and often at times, color variations of them. Yawn.

I'm glad to see a new character in Rashid, but unfortunately, I just have nothing invested in him as honestly, I feel that SF5 is the weakest game in the series next to the original SF. Had this been Juri though, I would be all over it.

Sadly, we will NEVER get anything Darkstalkers, especially after the way Darkstalkers Resurrection bombed, which was a damn crying shame. Way to be there FGC...

I'd lose my mind if SHF did some Darkstalkers and/or KOF.

Personally, I think Storm is doing a better job nailing the graphic style of the SFV designs, and Rashid looks more in line with the Super Turbo/classic design of their Ryu and Chun. Very interesting. I think I prefer the more stylized approach Storm is taking, but I appreciate seeing a more toned down version of the newest characters. I was totally expecting SHF to be hitting the SFII roster first before branching to the rest of the cast, while Storm does the SFV crowd. Though this gives me a little more hope that a classic costume Urien and maybe even Oro will get made sooner rather than later if they're gonna be jumping around. But then again, Rashid has jumped to being nearly the 3rd fan fav character from my impressions.

Yeah I get it now. Thanks to you two that explained the other side of the spectrum to me. It was just frustration. See the thing about the Capo line is that it was originally a completely funded line. What happen was the sculptor was not going to be given full creative control over his sculpts so he backed out and that's why it became a Kickstarter. Rocco wasn't trying to deliberately deceive us but last minute changes behind the scenes took place. It sucks too because those figures looked great to me. Also I do have to fault Rocco for his weak Kickstarter campaign.

Still blows my mind that DeeJay hasn't been made yet. And since he's not part of the SF5 roster this could ultimately mean he's lucked out again. Hopefully not though.

If they made characters based on KOF, Terry, Ryo Kyo, Iori, and Mai would be the first 5 but I feel they need to release them team by team. So the next SF characters must be Ken and Laura then, I hope they get announce either next month or at Toyfair 2017. I hope we have at least 6 characters by SDCC 2017

Still one of the coolest things Capcom did for a character design.

"What is the longest word that will fit on a character, but can be read from either direction?"

I have no idea when we will see him in figure form, but I did enjoy him as a kid I mean who doesn't love Jamaican Kickboxing?

What happened there, anyway? They released Terry (my first Figuarts aside from the MMX releases) and implied that Kyo, Mai, and Kim were slated to come next (along with a display of Blanks doing various special move poses for both KOF and SF characters) and then POOF! Did Bandai ever say why they decided not to move forward on further KOF figures?

I'd have to go back and check the time line, but I think that was a combination of SNK going under and getting bought by Playmore, and the D-Arts line dying out.
