Disney Store Exclusive Star Wars Elite Series Premium Action Figures

Posted on November 2, 2016 at 8:03 am by Joe Moore under Star Wars Toy News

Back in July, Disney Stores began selling Marvel Ultimate Series Figures. These 11″ scale figures featured cloth outfits, accessories and over 30 points of articulation. Now it looks the Star Wars brand is going to be getting the same treatment. Over at the Jedi Temple Archives, they have posted a photo, taken of a flyer from Disney Stores. The flyer showcases the Disney Store Exclusive Star Wars Elite Series Premium Action Figures. While the scale is not mentioned on the flyer, it’s clear these are extremely close in style to the Marvel Ultimate Series.

The photo show Rey and Kylo Ren from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. They have a mixture of plastic sculpting and cloth outfit. They will have 32 points of articulation, lightsabers and include interchangeable hands. They will hit stores starting November 15, while Leia and Darth Vader are scheduled for November 29. Click the banner to check it out.

Leia's likeness is pretty amazing. Rey, on the other hand...nope, not even close. Looks more like Star Wars Barbie.

So are they done with the 7" Elite figures? I was hoping for more OT characters.

I hope not. I really feel like they are testing the water with these and I don't feel like they will do as well as the 7 inch. I saw the Ren in the store last week and really wasn't impressed. I can see from the pictures of Vader that I probably won't be with him either

The Carrie Fisher sculpt looks nice.

It does seem like a niche is being tested. I've seen younger fans embrace the current low-end 12" department-store line, and they might want their parents to spend a little more for these fancier versions.

The new & improved 7" version of Vader looks like it might come from the same design desk. That's the one I'm gunning for.

How are these figures in scale to the Hot Toys figures?

Smaller. Not in same scale or style.

kind of an odd scale- I think I'll pick up Kylo just to see how he is and then decide on picking up anymore. Just not sure of any place I have for a series of these...

I was thinking about getting Jyn since Hot Toys isn't doing anything with her. But I think it'd look weird standing next to my HT Rey & Finn figures.

Hot Toys revealed their Jyn Erso figure yesterday or the day before, along with normal the Shoretrooper and Shoretrooper Captain, Chirrut Imwe, Baze Malbus, Hovertank Pilot, and K-2SO.

Finally picked up Kylo. He's a pretty dang nice toy... not perfect, but still fun to play with and pose- more so than the HotToys dolls I have that you don't want to mess with for fear of damaging them! Based on this one I'm sure I'll grab Vader when he comes out

That makes perfect sense. And the figure looks great.

I saw the Kylo Ren and Rey this past weekend. No interest in the Rey, as the likeness isn't there. Wanted to grab Kylo Ren, but everyone had their Lightsabers bent to hell.
