John Stewart Green Lantern – DC Icons Gallery

Posted on October 19, 2016 at 4:00 pm by Tony_Bacala under DC Toy News, Random Photo Shoot

Last up in our look at DC Icons wave 4 is our second Green Lantern in the run, John Stewart. John joins Hal Jordan’s deluxe release to start building out your Corps, coming with a Lantern, several ring effects pieces and multiple alternate hands. Let’s take a closer look after the break courtesy of Big Bad Toy Store!

Overall
Well done. Especially like the hand with the hole for the effects pieces to plug into, allows for some cool customization on the shelf. The “point of light” accessory I found to be my favorite. Overall sculpt is pretty standard Icons fare, matte black with a slight metallic sheen green is sharp. Really solid entry to the line.

Check some key shots below, full set after that!

Am I the only one that cares bout the lack of an open left hand? It's be nice to actually have him hold the tommy gun properly.

    Yes.

Yeah, I would have preferred an open option. We got 3 righties and one closed leftie.

I'm not even sure why they bothered to make his left hand removable when it has nothing to be exchanged with.

i thought that "fleshy color" near the black around his eyes was just a defect on mine..but i guess that is the effect they were going for.

It looks really good but does anyone got a comparison shot of firestorm next to a current normal bodied marvel legend?

Because it still needs to be poseable, and the system they use for interchanging hands is also the system for articulating said hands, so (a) they're not going to sculpt the hand as an unmoving part of the forearm, or only have wrist hinge and no swivel, and (b) there's no reason to design a new system of articulation for the hand that also makes it non-removable when they already have a system that works. It would be more work to make it non-removable, beacuse the removable system is already the default.

Hope his coat's very flexible enough to allow him to sit. Oh, and get to finally giving Batman a multi-purpose cape

John Stewart has been the figure I've looked forward to most in this whole lineup. Besides from the eyes, he seems like a great piece from what I've heard.

Might change the eyes to green, but I hope to get my hands on one of these.

Amazing! I wonder if his effect/ring arm works with Hal? Either way, he's a must-buy for me!
