NYCC 2016 – Official NECA City Hunter Predator Photos and Info

Posted on October 7, 2016 at 11:49 am by Joe Moore under Aliens and Predator Toy News, New York Comic Con

While the figure didn’t make the full journey to the show, NECA has shared new details on this highly anticipated release to coincide with the event. Check out the details for the Predator 2 – City Hunter Predator Ultimate 7″ Scale Figure. Fans should be pleased with the newly sculpted pieces, interchangeable parts and accessories. Here are the details:

At long last, the classic Predators are back – and with some huge upgrades! From the 1990 film Predator 2, we present the definitive collector’s version of the City Hunter. The action-packed sequel to the original movie moved the hunt to Los Angeles, where even on the streets, the Predator stalks his prey with deadly precision.

The chilling creature has received “Ultimate” treatment, including additional articulation in the biceps (bicep swivels), elbows (double elbow joints) and torso, plus an opening gauntlet! Comes with 2 interchangeable heads and 5 hands, plus bloody skull and spine, smart disc, removable net launcher, cannon blast effect, collapsed spear and extended spear. Collector-friendly deluxe window box packaging with opening flap.

The figure is scheduled for release in December. See the photos by reading on.

I'm not a fan of any of these guys from a design perspective, so easy pass here. That xenomorph head looks pretty rad, but I already own Wasp predator, so it's not really super necessary for me.

That Elder with removable mask is an instant buy for me. Love the look on the other two but my wallet won't allow more than one figure on this wave

Randy has said that in 2018 they likely revisit the Predators predators, they're already planned through that point with other figures however.

While none of these 3 particularly excite me the Serpent hunter being from the 2010 AVP game gets me excited for what other figures they could do from that game (Dark with swap heads and Predalien please).

They look amazing as always but honestly I'm feeling kind of meh on these.

To be fair though I never played the AvP game so a Xeno mask is a little weird looking to me and I wasn't really a fan of the Elder at the end of the AvP movie. He didn't hold a candle to the P2 Elder.

The weirdest thing to me is that the alien mask predator skin was pre-order exclusive so most people wouldn't have had that skin in game. I'm hoping that they seize the glaringly easy opportunity to just give that figure a different head and call it Dark (the title of the playable predator from the story).
I don't like the AVP elder because he has a frikkin' cape. It just looks stupid to me on so many levels, plus every time I see it I remember that lame movie because no other predator anywhere else has looked like that. Greyback was cool because he was just Jungle Hunter but all old and mysterious the AVP guy was like predator Superman cosplay.

I'll be hunting this one down for sure! Great set of accessories, great new sculpt with added articulation... I'm almost happy now that I missed out on the initial realeases

Well it's not the Jungle Hunter but it's nice to know that they do give the Ultimate’s accessories from the separately sold Accessory Pack.

Because all I need with my Jungle Hunter are a blue plasma blast and one of those bloody skulls with the spine attached.

What's the deal with the stubby fingered hand? Was there a scene where his fingers were cut off? I can't remember.

Most likely a top view of a closed hand (for holding the spear for example).

Jungle Hunter will get the Ultimate treatment too, set to release in early 2017. It will surely have the blue shot and one or more trophies like City Hunter here

I love that the net launcher on the City Hunter is removable, and that he has a hand specifically made for holding it. I know it's not listed as an accessory, but is that net that he's shooting in the one pic included in this release? The net even has the little spikes that attach to the wall when it ensnares it's prey, just like in the movie. I get the feeling the net was actually just something made for the production photo, but one can hope.

Regardless, the ultimate City Hunter appears to be a huge upgrade over the original figure. Can't wait.

Yeah, the Ultimate City Hunter looks pretty damned good. I plan on picking it up for sure. Jungle one, as well...especially since mine committed suicide off my shelf and broke his hand off.

In the pictures Elder's face looks too busy, but I can always stick the mask on. The others are perfect IMO.

I haven't heard anything about City Hunter for a while. Is it still due for a December release or has it been pushed back to next year?

Hasn't been that long. They released a photo shoot and full details just last month. It's still on their shipping list for release in December. Probably on their Ebay store a few weeks earlier than that.

Thanks. It isn't on their December calendar on their website and I saw at least one store has it listed as a February release, so I was a little worried. I thought it might have been pushed back.

It actually ships out November 28th. Takes 2-3 weeks after that to start hitting shelves and stores like BBTS, EE, etc.

I just checked their website. The one listed for the 28th is the 20" tall one with LED lights. I'm talking about the Ultimate one.

My bad. Yeah, glossed over the "1/4 scale" bit. The product page for City Hunter still lists December. They seem to update the calendar after they receive production samples. I haven't seen them share pics or send them out for review yet, so it may be waiting on that.
