The Walking Dead 5-Inch Daryl Dixon with Motorcycle New Photos

Posted on September 29, 2016 at 7:03 am by Joe Moore under Horror Toy News

New photos have been released for the upcoming The Walking Dead TV Series Daryl Dixon with Custom Motorcycle 5″ Scale Deluxe Set by McFarlane Toys. The deluxe set, based on Season 6 of The Walking Dead, is scheduled to hit stores in October, but many fans have reported finding him in stores already. It will be priced at $34.99. The new pics give us a look at the final production figure.

AMC’s The Walking Dead television series is the most watched drama in basic cable history, shattering records along the way! Season 6 finds Rick Grimes and his fellow survivors seeking refuge in a desolate and post-apocalyptic world and discover there are greater forces to fear than just the walking dead. McFarlane Toys is sitting shotgun for the ride with more amazingly-detailed action figures from AMC’s The Walking Dead.

– Comes with Crossbow and Knife
– Features Daryl Dixon’s new bike with amazing attention to detail based off the bike Daryl uses in Season 5 and 6 of AMC’s The Walking Dead.
– Spectacular likeness of Daryl Dixon taken from 3D scans of actor Norman Reedus.
– Sculpted in the outfit worn in Season 5 of AMC’s The Walking Dead.

Daryl Dixon is a skilled hunter, fighter, tracker, and mechanic whose talents have made him one of the most valuable individuals to the group, and allow him to build and maintain his own motorcycles. Daryl first sported a custom chopper which belong to his brother, but has since lost it when the Prison was overrun. In Season 5, now with access to a garage full of parts in Alexandria, Daryl has modified a brand new bike to suit his scouting and independent lifestyle.

See the photos after the jump.

Yeah, announced during Toy Fair. Huge blow up on the McFarlane Facebook page. Only the comic figures will continue at 5" scale.

Then that's even crazier that 7 figures are lined up and i haven't seen a zombie....there should be like 1 or 2 in the first wave or at LEAST one per wave...and some feature that could make them like generic zombies to "army build"

and I don't particularly see the two from FTWD as all that interesting...

The problem is, Walking Dead is no longer a dedicated line. Being lumped into the Color Tops Collection. It's kind of like their old Movie Maniacs approach: Lots of different licenses lumped together in 1 packaging style and a uniform scale. I personally don't expect many, if any, walkers in that scale.

While this is exactly what I was hoping for, Daryl in his leather jacket on his latest bike, I hope the face sculpt looks better up close...

Yes I fully agree! The face sculpt looked more hispanic to me. I prefer the bandana head sculpt. That said, I'm excited for this figure. Awesome motorcycle!

But don't you remember Rick's most forced and cheesiest line of dialogue ever?! "We ARE the walking dead."

That was just... well it was really bad.

In the comics, at the time, it had a bit of a harder impact. The issue was a game changer. Looking back, the panel and over emphasis is a bit silly for sure, but my eyes popped at the time. But the show fumbled that whole bit and it was pretty cringe-worthy.

yeah man...in the comics there were some LITERALLY jaw dropping, eyes wide openn, involuntary curse coming out of your mouth moments....
Some of those weren't necessarily conveyed properly via the little screen...

I think part of it comes down to the comics being uncensored so when they want to get dark they can get as dark as necessary to convey the savagery and the brutality from both zombies and (more importantly) people. I can see no way the on-screen head batting will be nearly as repulsive/shocking as what went down in the comics, especially since they already took some of the wind out of those sails with a freaking cliffhanger.

Interestingly enough..since you touched on this point..i actually find a good portion of the violence in WD (television) to be gratuitous.
GIVEN ..i understand what it is..and i guess it has to be done to appease some of the fan base..but a lot of it to me is just..meh.

According to a few people on McFarlane's facebook page, Walmart's are getting them for $29.97. So $5 off the MSRP.
