NECA Queen Facehugger Packaging Preview

Posted on September 23, 2016 at 2:41 pm by Joe Moore under Aliens and Predator Toy News

NECA has posted a new packaging insert preview. The insert is for the upcoming Aliens Series 10 Queen Facehugger. The figure will include a smaller Queen Facehugger and a reprint of a Dark Horse Comic.

To celebrate the 10th series in our bestselling Aliens line, we’re dedicating the full series to the classic Kenner Expanded Universe Aliens of the early 1990s!

Series 10 includes the powerful Gorilla Alien, the Queen Facehugger, and Mantis Alien, which is cast in translucent green just like the original. Taking inspiration from those designs, our team has transformed these Kenner classics into modern versions with all of today’s detail and articulation.

Each comes with a reprint of the classic Dark Horse mini-comic that was included with the originals! These highly detailed figures stand over 9″ tall and are fully poseable. The special blister card packaging is an homage to the classic card art as well, featuring custom illustrations and a color palette that ties back to the toy shelves of the early ’90s.

I'm very hyped for this. I've never collected the Alien/Predator NECA figures before but between this and the upcoming Predator figures I might just jump on the train.

NECA really employs some of the best artists around. That pics is amazing.

Brings back fond memories of being six years old and talking my parents into buying toys for me that were based on rated R films.

Yeah I remember those days too. I got some Predators and Aliens thinking they were from a comic or something without ever even knowing they were R rated movies until later.

I like the fact that Predators series 10 was their first Kenner remake wave (I love those 3, well maybe I don't love Hive Wars but he is still really cool) and now Aliens series 10 is the same.

Love the NECA artwork, it's got to the point where I use them as inspiration when posing the figures.

Man, How long before they attempt to do a Flying Queen???? I can already see them doing the Panther and Night Cougar figures using the Dog alien with a new head and paint. But will we ever see the Snake Alien??? He was my favorite one of the Kenner years. I also always always liked the Wild Boar Alien. And maybe we will see a new version of the ATAX marine.

With every (I think) 3rd Aliens series now being Kenner dedicated, they'll likely hit most of them eventually, barring a few that may be cost prohibitive. The Mantis Alien is really fantastic, and has a good amount of all-new tooling. I want that one in multiple colors for sure.

They already did the Gorilla and Mantis who were my two absolute favorite Aliens so any others they make are just icing on the cake.

Atax would be so awesome though. Had lots of awesome team-ups with him and the Predators against the Aliens back in the day.

Even as a child back in the 90's I never understood why they made a baby blue alien figure. It's 2016 and I'm still wondering why they're making a baby blue alien figure. Life is full of all sorts of strange constants.

That aside, NECA is seriously after my heart with these homage waves. Definitely getting that gorilla alien as soon as I see him.

Considering the whole host trait thing, why not a blue Xeno from a blue 'alien' host? It probably makes more sense than Mantis at least lol, and I'll still be buying that one.

I think, strictly going off of visual storytelling, that Mantis is supposed to be a man-made experiment. Throughout the expanded materials and even Alien 4 different groups have always tried taming the aliens and attempts to fiddle with their genetic makeup are kind of a trope. Mantis' face and bulbous short tail are reminiscent of a Queen. That or some planet just has really big bugs that facehuggers can infect.

The host of the blue big chap wouldn't have to be blue, almost none of the other aliens share color traits with their host.

This is how I always explained the animal-esque Aliens.

I know, but there's a lot of examples that came to mind like the PredAlien, the dog Xeno being brown over the more traditional black, the chestbursters from MK X... Plus after that explanation for Stalker...

I always liked the idea of the aliens taking on subtle traits from their hosts as an adaptation to help them survive in whatever element the host lived in. That being said, I hate the PredAlien for the fact that it has dreads just like the Predators do because it just looks a little too silly for my tastes.

I'm also a fan of the idea that even within the same species of hosts, the aliens don't always come out the same way every time.

Yeah, the PredAlien was laughable from the get-go. All it should have had was the mandibles. Those feet... Jesus wept.

All that said, I'll probably still buy the re-do NECA version.

I'm sure this is how Kenner figured it back in the day. The little pack-in comics straight up showed that gorilla aliens just come from "gorillas" on another planet.

The movie predalien is indeed rubbish. I still voice my opinion that a figure of the third AVP game's "abomination" would be the best predalien option. It kept more of the biomechanic visuals and the dreads were much shorter. I don't think a single predalien design has ever not had the dreads which is weird because human-born aliens don't have hair.

Exactly, it doesn't make any sense. If NECA ever does another PredAlien figure I might pick it up and customize it into something that looks a little less silly.

The Flying Queen was absolutely one of my favorite Alien toys growing up. Looking forward to NECA's version in the near future.
