The first last of the initial wave of Action Toys modern era Machine Robo figures is finally in hand. Bike Robo – aka Cy-Kill from the Go-Bots – is actually labeled #1 in the series but released after the other 3 in the wave due to last minute retooling. He captures the Revenge of Chronos anime look well, not sporting the angry face he’s known for in Go-Bots animation. Finally, an updated Leader-1 and Cy-Kill are available to tuck into your Transformers (or Go-Bots) line up. Head on in after the break to check over 30 in-hand images courtesy of Big Bad Toy Store!

Overall
Another fine figure. The retool and rubber tires worked out well, and the overall figure is great. Has a nice stance, awesome poseability. He’s a bit small, but they’re going for scale with the Japanese cartoon so it’s accurate to that. Bottom line, he and Eagle Robo are great supplements to a Transformers collection and if you really love you some Machine Robo / Go-Bots specifically, the line overall is great. Worth a pick up!

First Up - Leader-1
Figure looks excellent. Fantastic shoot as always.
Are the splits in the shoulder panels just for show? Can they be closed? Those bother me a little for some reason.
I need to see how these guys look standing next to 2007 Walmart-exclusive Fracture/Crasher.
The need is already mighty, but that might push me over the edge.
Tank and Screwhead are up:

All three look good together. They're really fantastic updates. The modular base looks insane.
It was always comical to me how central Screwhead apparently was in MR while basically insignificant in Gobots. As far as I remember anyway.
Oh wow, all this time I thought these toys were going to be in the Masterpiece Scale and I figured Leader-1 would be about the same height as the MP Seekers and that was keeping me away from wanting to collect this line. Now that I know that they are more in scale with the other non-MP scales I think I will pick some of them up.
I had a soft spot for the Go-Bots cartoon because I remember their transformations and designs were pretty close to the toys I had, unlike the Transformers.
I'm probably the only person who wishes Leader-1 had that grinning cartoon head though
Also, this article lead me to research Go-Bots and Machine Robo, which lead me to rediscover a toy called Battle Armor 5 that my Mom got for me off Home Shopping Channel years ago. I seriously never thought I would find out what this toy was or where it came from and I am so glad to finally know what it was.
I was going to pass on these, but seeing how well these figures scale with Deluxe Transformers definitely sold me. I'm also really jazzed about those bases. Hopefully Hasbro (or at least Takara) releases the long-rumored display stands sometime soon. I mean, they've been putting the associated holes in figures for a while now...
And, Bike Robo (Cy-Kill) finally out and up:

Something about Bike Robo's design being accurate to, well, Bike Robo (instead of the more menacing Cy-Kill touches) actually makes him seem like a more evil character, when factoring in Cy-Kill's role in GoBots. Like, the rounded look, the smaller stature, the impassive face... it really reminds me of how evil Frieza was when I first watched Dragonball Z back in the late 90s/early 2000s.
I can dig it.
So want GoBots to make a come back.
Awesome photos and gallery! I am loving this MR line. Hopefully, the line will keep on going! I am looking forward to wave 2.
