In October 2015, NECA first teased a set of Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure Retro Mego Style Figures. Fast forward nearly a year, and fans will be getting these in hand very soon. The Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure Wyld Stallyns 2-Pack includes both Bill S. Preston, Esquire and Ted “Theodore” Logan. The set also includes guitars with straps for both figures as well as a cardboard Telephone Booth Time Machine. The 8″ tall figures features cloth outfits, 25+ points of articulation and the likenesses of actors Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves.
NECA was kind enough to provide us with the figures in advance and we have a full gallery and review of the 2-pack. Read on to see over 50 high resolution photos and read my review.

Overall
The new Bill and Ted figures come in a collector friendly window box. The box features logos and artwork from Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. The art and colors used on the box look great, giving it a nice retro feel. The figures, guitars and straps sit on a plastic tray, allowing you to place the figures and accessories back on for storage or display. Inside the box you will find a Wyld Stallyns backdrop as well as the cardboard Phone Booth. The Phone Booth itself simply folds together, much like a box. the printed art on the phone booth works well, and it scales nicely with Bill and Ted.
Bill and Ted both look great in hand. The head sculpts are ok. They are modeled after the poster for the film, and do a good job of achieving those looks. Paint work on the head sculpts is solid, with no real noticeable issues. The expressions used don’t come off as well as a more static expression may have. They’re not bad in hand at all, but some of the other Mego style head sculpts from NECA have been so perfect, that I can see why some fans aren’t digging these as much. The outfits, tho, are spot on to the movie, and feature a nice thin thread, keeping the clothes from looking too “puffy” or oversized on the figures. Bill has his name on the back of the shirt, as well as the Stallyn. Ted has his “Save The Humans” sticker on his shorts. The jackets are removable for both figures, so you can display them a few different ways.
Articulation is exactly what we’ve had in previous Mego style releases from NECA. The figures have single jointed elbows (and probably knees), swivel joints in the biceps, rotating and hinged wrist joints, waist articulation and more. The joints are nice and tight with no issues holding poses or standing at all. With over 25 points of articulation, I was able to get some really fun dynamic poses, while Bill and Ted shred on their guitars. Speaking of the guitars, they are sculpted well, and the included straps work perfectly to keep them in place.
I had a lot of fun shooting this set. They’re a blast to pose, and the included accessories are perfect, with the Phone Booth Time Machine being an especially nice touch. Check out a few select photos below and the full gallery after that. Check back tomorrow for our gallery and review of Rufus from the movie!
