An update from Tamashii Nations gives us a look at their next Godzilla figure. Check out the S.H. Monsterarts 1989 Godzilla with electronic sound and light up features. The figure will have light up LED back fins and a light up interior mouth. The most interesting feature, though, is the sound capabilities for the figure. Godzilla will feature three different roars, his atomic breath sound and foot steps. Godzilla‘s sound effect will also feature two songs, including the popular theme song. It’s an impressive overall package for sure.
Pre-orders for this S.H. Monsterarts 1989 Godzilla begin on June 9th. The figure will be priced at 19,980 Yen (about $182 USD) with a release set for October.
SH Monsterarts 1989 Godzilla with Electronic Features

This looks awesome but I'm going to have to wait for this one to go on sale at Amazon or something; I can't spend almost $200 on another 6" Godzilla.
Actually, it's 8inches becasue it is the start of a new electronic line.
Me:
More Heisei...
At least they are doing my favorite version of Godzilla from that era, but come on, when is Bandai going to showa love?

While freaking expensive this piece does look spectacular. Biollante is one of my personal favorite Godzilla movies and it established the main Heisei look that would see only minor variations from costume to costume. The look is such an iconic Godzilla that SH is repainting it to death and when NECA botched details like his scales I was still happy just to have the design for a cheap price.
NECA didn't do this version of Godzilla.
Gotcha, although Godzilla's thighs get bigger as the Heisei suits progress.
Anyway, to be honest, while this new line is a cool little idea, I would only support it if Bandai decided to focus on the Showa monsters in this style.

Super dope figure. Too many other must gets for this for me unfortunately. I kinda wish I didn't have like a trillion other obligations/must haves because "somebody get a vet, this puppy is sick!" as you know who says
I'll take a Millennium Godzilla like this please!
This figure looks amazing. The price is high for sure. And I don't know how often I would use the light up and sound features to make it worth the price for me. I grew up on the 1960's and 1970's Godzilla so a light up feature on of those styles would peak my interest even more.
