NECA Masked Scar Predator and Warrior Predator In Package Images

Posted on April 6, 2016 at 3:20 pm by Joe Moore under Aliens and Predator Toy News

Last week, NECA shared the first look at the Temple Guard Predator In Packaging. Today, they posted packaged photos of the remaining two figures from Predator Series 15. Check out the Masked Scar Predator and the Warrior Predator on their cards. These figures are due for release this month, and with seeing carded images, can’t be too far off.

NECA’s longest running action figure line continues!

Series 15 features even more action figure debuts from the 2004 movie Alien vs. Predator. The assortment includes our first-ever Ancient Predators, Warrior and Temple Guard, as well as a new masked version of the fan-favorite Scar Predator. We’ve paid close attention to detail to make these as accurate to the movie as possible.

Each has over 30 points of articulation and comes with character-specific gauntlets, armor, weapons, trophies and other accessories. As an added bonus, the hands, gauntlet blades and cannons are removable and compatible with all AvP Predators.

Figures stand 8.25” tall. Blister card packaging.

See the new images by reading on.

    Not too bad looking.

Not sure what it is, but the proportions on this one seem really off. I know they downsized a bit of the characters' bulk down from the movie, but this one looks a little too skinny, not to mention very tall. His legs and arm almost seem too long.

I hope NECA plans on painting that body netting this time around.

They only didn't do that for the recent Kenner ones because the original Kenner ones didn't have netting at all. They're painting the netting on movie ones still. I still really dig the Kenner homages regardless of unpainted nets, sure they'd look better either actually painted or just removed from the sculpt entirely but even as is the figures are great.

With Temple Guard I immediately see the torso joint as visually apparent, not ruinous but a problem Celtic shouldn't have due to his double breast plates.

NECA's mid-torso joints look amazing when they're on characters whose design allows them a way to camouflage the joint. For example, Nova Terra from their Heroes of the Storm line. When it's just on a bare torso, it just looks weird. It's like NECA just can't quite get it right.

Oh, and about this reveal...wow, NECA just won't give up until they've made every conceivable Predator figure in existence, will they? At this rate, I'm waiting for a figure of the janitor Predator who cleaned the toilets on the ship that was glimpsed in the opening shot of the first Predator movie or something like that.

Not complaining though, especially since they're finally creating new bodies instead of repainting the same two over and over.

They obviously went to the Lucasfilm school of marketing, as literally, you're hard pressed to find a character from Star Wars that isn't represented in plastic form in some way. I mean, did we really need a giant boobed fat man figure from Return of the Jedi to complete our collections? Or all those different senators that Anakin slaughters at the end of Revenge of the Sith?

Honestly though, unless NECA starts going into all of the various video game or comic representations (like "Concrete Jungle", which is coming,) they are running out of Predators to make. You have about two or three Kenner Preds, the Temple Guard and Predator Elder, and maybe an updated Wolf.

I'm still holding out hope that we eventually get some of the Predator designs from the XB360/PS3 game in 2009. Some of those were wicked looking.

so, is the Celtic series even out yet? I painted Renegade and cracked tusks netting and they look a lot better, it makes them fit in better with the movie figures. as far as them over producing I say KEEP IT UP! maybe work on distribution a bit, but crank out every version of every predator! my only thought would be that they'll hit a point soon where they run out of continuity, then it's either concept art, unproduced Kenner product, or original designs!

Celtic and the rest of 14 aren't out yet. They're supposed to be out either by the end of this month or some point in December. NECA's shipping calendar says December 17 for what that's worth.

I'd like to see Renegade and Cracked Tusk with painted nets, if you don't mind. I personally found it easy enough to not really care about the nets but I'm sure they technically look better painted.

Viper is proof that NECA can make a cool original predator, though my shelf space is wearing thin so I kinda hope they slow things down with all this stuff I can't resist.

Not bad at all, I commend your effort. It's looks like CT was the more successful of the two. I'm eagerly waiting for NECA to reveal the first wave of Kenner Aliens.

Nice work. If I ever need to do the same I've found that dipping the tip of a pushpin in some paint works really well for small jobs like this.

Temple Guard and Warrior look pretty cool, I like the guard more between the two. But overall this series will be a pass so I can save space and money in anticipation of the next Kenner wave with Leader.

I can't believe there are people who actually want the elder from AVP. I always thought he looked so freaking stupid because of his big red cape, he's a predator not a superhero.

I don't like the AvP movie designs much at all. I do really like that NECA slimmed down the body types and armor a ton. Makes them a little more tolerable, and the sculpt quality on S14 was outstanding. Next one I'm really psyched for is Concrete Jungle Predator.

Oh damn I forgot all about that they're gonna make a figure of Scarface. Concrete Jungle was fun. A little clunky sure but still fun.

I was going to get the maskless Scar but now I think I'll wait for this one.

Celtic's mask was always cool but that's pretty much all I like about the first AVP designs (apparently i like it enough that I'm excited for his series 14 figure). Coincidentally I'm pretty sure Celtic can be reused for Scarface or at least his mask can be spiked up and that'd be done.

I really dig these figures. The removable knives, dreads, armor, so many cool details. Scar is the one Predator I've been wanting to see updated by NECA.

    New here! First post!
I don't know about the rest of you guys…although these figures are very well done, I am absolutely hating this new Series 15, and definitely will NOT buy it. Why? Not only do all 3 figures look almost exactly alike, but they also bare a striking resemblance to Series 14 (in stores now). In the past, we have always been given a new series where all three figures look almost completely different…different body types, noticeably different outfits/armor, different colored paint jobs, completely different weapons, etc, etc. Just go back and look at all the series and you'll see they always looked very different. Not so with this series. The differences are so subtle they are almost unnoticeable. They could have at least painted the bodies different colors. Anyway, I guess I'll have to wait and see what they do with Series 16 because this one is lame. I can only assume this series was very cheap to produce for NECA since it didn't entail 3 completely different Predators. Series 15 has NO variety at all…they all look the same. Booooo! Hissssss!

  25. kylactus's Avatar kylactus says

    02-10-2016, 10:54 PM

In there defense, the three preds in AVP did look almost alike. The only one I have so far is scar, I really like the detail in the unmasked faces, plus the other two were really shitty predators, neither gets a kill, and the first one dies before he sees the alien. I do think I'll get one more, probably the one with the skull trophies.
