Back in July 2014, then newly formed Boss Fight Studio launched their Kickstarter campaign for their first series of independent action figures – Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. The Highly Articulated Character Kit System was set to provide top end 1/18th scale figures on various themes, the first being Greek Mythology. The Kickstarter blew original goals away, stretching over and over with tons of bonus items. Fast forward 1.5ish years later and the first batch of figures are finally in hand! We received our package yesterday afternoon and jumped into an all night session to bring you some HQ shots of the first figures, which are:
Wave 1 Medusa
Wave 1 Spartan Warrior
Wave 1 Coral Gorgon
Wave 1 Cursed Spartan
Wave 3 Black Racer Gorgon
Kickstarter Exclusive Bronze Spartan Talos
Also sent, but not shot yet were the Blank Bodies in Shadow Gray and Fire Orange. Shoots for those will be coming soon. Let’s take a look at the very first Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. figures after the break with 195 HD images!
You can grab your copies now over at BossFightShop.com!
You can also grab your copy of the Ultimate Spartan Convention Exclusive to stay complete over at NJCC, due to release at the show on April 3rd!
Overall
It was a long night, so for the most part I am going to let the pics speak for themselves below. Short version – Boss Fight delivered on all fronts. The figures are quality in sculpt, paint and feel. The paint detail especially on the snakes is crazy. We’ve seen em for a while, but once in hand they feel great – plastic quality is there, joints move smooth and parts pop on/off easy. Articulation is there for almost every pose. One thing that bothered me a bit, though not too much, the leg articulation. You can still do most poses, but there is no thigh or hip swivel, no knee or boot swivel. So for sideways lunging type poses, which I do a lot, you gotta rock a waist/ankle twist. Also, there are no ankle rockers, so in those type of poses the feet will not be flush with the floor. For the amount of work that went into them in all other areas it’s a good trade off with cost I’m sure. After these shoots they’ll be static for the most part for me, in mostly upright front facing positions.
Bottom Line – friggin awesome, better than expected once in hand. You can grab the non Kickstarter exclusive figures seen here right now over at BossFightShop.com!
Key shots here, full set of 195 pics after that!

Round 1 of shipping is up, 195 in-hand pics at link above.
Friggin. Awesome. See for yourself tho.
I don't really dig the standard guys too much. I think the variants, such as the Stone and Copper Warriors are far more interesting. All of the Serpents are money though.
Probably don't even need to say it, but these are the best pics out there of the figures.
I agree, the variant Spartans strike a better cord with me. Prior to having them in hand, the Snakes didn't do much for me, but now I think they beat the Spartans. Medusa in particular. Sculpt and paint combo on that is perfect.
8 down, 41 to go, bring it!
I can't wait to have them all. The line is awesome and so are these pics!
These look amazing! Looking forward to seeing the rest, especially the Amazon and Gorgon Sisters.
I hate that I missed out on being able to get the Talon figure, I had such plans... *Sigh*
BUT! I was able to put in an order for the Cursed so I'll be looking forward to that!
These look so great! A little odd on the neck peg system but it's effective. For a custom, could easily make a peg substitute to fit in the hole. But aside from that; me want!!!
Wow, sure had a lot of "left overs"... Still wish these were in a larger scale.
I'm happy they are 3.75" purist!
I agree they would be awesome in 6" scale. Still on the fence.
I love how you can kitbash these with MU figures. Here's a 300 Spartan:

The idea that these guys were running around at the battle if Thermopylae in underwear is laughable to me and I found the historical accounts more entertaining than the movie but it had some good scenes.
I want some of those monster girls
Part 2 is up!

The hero shots are epic as hell.
these guys turned out better than their prototypes, which is almost never the case in this scale.
well worth the wait. I'm glad that when they felt the quality control wasn't up to scratch, they shut production down to make things right. quite possibly the best 1:18 figures ever produced. I love them.
These are tremendous. Look at that attention to detail.
I'd love to see some kind of TV series.
Have just put in an order for some skeletons!
