Diamond Select Toys recently began producing bust banks based on the Aliens and Predator franchises. These highly detailed sculpts work as fantastic, inexpensive, bust displays. So far, they have released an Alien Warrior, an unmasked Jungle Hunter Predator and an Alien Egg bank. There are also a few variants of these banks out there, including the one we’re looking at today. Check out our Thermal Jungle Hunter Predator Bust Bank gallery. This release is an Entertainment Earth Exclusive, and they have sent one along to photograph. I have over 20 high resolution images showing the bust, as well as comparisons with the previously released Alien Warrior and Predator banks that I have collected.

Pros
- Fairly large bust
- Great sculpted details
- Inexpensive
Cons
- Thermal scheme on a Predator doesn’t make too much sense
Overall
The bust banks come packaged in plastic baggies. So once opened, there’s little packaging to keep. This EE exclusive version is a repaint of the previously released Unmasked Jungle Hunter Predator Bust Bank. It features an excellent sculpt throughout. Everything from the gaping mouth, to the dreadlocks to the shoulder cannon look excellent. It’s cast in a soft vinyl, so there’s little to no chance of breakage on the smaller detail areas. Sculpt wise, this is an excellent bust representation of the iconic Predator.
This exclusive variant is painted to match the thermal heat vision used by the Predator. There have been a few different exclusive releases using this scheme on the Predator. For me, that’s rarely made sense to have the Predator appear this way. With that said, the team responsible for the paint did a good job of selling the idea. The colors are bright, used well and don’t hurt the overall look, in fact, it reminds me of a G2 Transformers type paint scheme. It’s a nice companion piece for those who like to collect odd variants (like me). Plus, at $23, it’s less than most retail outlets are charging for the bust banks, and an easy price to swallow for an interesting display piece. Fortunately, fans who prefer the original color can easily opt for the original release. That version has an excellent and more appropriate paint job, and is available for the same price.
