Toy Fair 2016 – Ultimate Source – Killer Instinct Display

Posted on February 14, 2016 at 12:56 pm by Joe Moore under Toy Fair, Video Game Toy News

At Toy Fair 2016, Ultimate Source had their Killer Instinct 6″ and 9″ figures on display. These are figures we’ve seen previews, reveals and teasers of before. But it’s great to see the finalized figures out on display. Included are:

  • Jago – 6″ Scale Figure
  • Shadow Jago – 6″ Scale Figure
  • Hisako – 6″ Scale Figure
  • Sabrewulf – 6″ Scale Figure
  • Fulgore – 6″ Scale Figure
  • Jago Sound-Link – 9″ Scale Figure

Curious to see what they consider "full articulation" on Fulgore. Guess since he's a robot some joints made more sense and were easily hideable. Just not huge on the whole staction figure thing.

Ditto. I wonder if it just means 5 POA or what.

From what I can make out from the pics, Fulgore seems to have at least the basics covered...neck (as evidenced by the alternate head), shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles. Not bad.

Too bad the rest of the line seems to exhibit mid-1990's McFarlane-level articulation. Pass, although I may be forced to pick up Hisako nonetheless because she's so awesome.

Weren't there supposed to be 4" figures in this line as well? And if so, were they supposed to be more or less (lol) articulated than these?

From the looks of it, Shadow Jago is getting another run. I have him from the limited run which comes with color 10 for the game. I wonder if the unlockable color that comes with this new run is color 11. I remember Ultimate Source saying that if they did another run of Shago, it wouldn't come with that. I'm a little confused.

Don't remember any 4" announcement. They seem to be targeting the gamer market far more than the toy collector market. All of their promotion has been with gaming sites, and they've essentially ignored most toy specific sites. I've reached out to them a few times to get info with little luck.

I could have sworn 4" figures were announced, but I just went back through the ToyArk archives (so nice to post on a forum with a search feature that isn't hopelessly broken for once) and you're right, no 4-inchers, just 6" and 9" (although I don't remember the last time I saw updates for the 9" figs). Maybe I got the KI figures confused with the Mezco Mortal Kombat ones as far as scale goes.
