The Toyark is ending 2015 with the line that launched at it’s end, DC Icons! Today we are taking a look at #08 Lex Luthor, a modern Warsuit take from the Forever Evil arc. Sporting his traditional green and purple, this suit is more streamlined than those past. He comes with several accessories including an energy saw and wrist dagger. The sculpt is tops from the head down to the feet. Let’s take a closer look after the break courtesy of Big Bad Toy Store!

Pros
Great sculpt
Paint is clean and sharp
Cons
None
Overall
I am a big Lex Luthor fan, specifically when he’s in the Warsuits. This one comes from the New 52+ era, his third. The first was giant, almost like a bulbous Gundam. The second was human scale but bulky, and DC Collectibles released that in the New 52 line. This is his 3rd, and he’s been rocking it for a while in his current adventures with the Justice League. I’ll take ’em all. I would really enjoy a Bronze Age one, similar to the DCUC one from Mattel in this style at some point as well. I’d also enjoy one from DC Universe Online, the MMO, that key art version is fantastic.
Anyway back on track. As for the figure it’s a another great entry to the line. Standard DC Icons construction is at play at all the articulation points. The parts are unique, each with their own cuts and sculpting additions coming from the slim body base. Swappable hands popped in and out easily, and the accessories are solid. The head sculpt is dead on for a modern Lex Luthor, bald and angry. Bottom line, great figure all around, worth a pick up. Hopefully we continue to get New 52+ figures in the line going forward as Mister Miracle and Lex are 2 of my favorites so far.

Do you have a picture of him with the Mattel 6inch Killer Croc?
Anyway, He looks cool, he's just not my Batman.
Sort of a "21 Jump Street" Batman. I'm reminded of the period when Dick Grayson wore the bat-suit.

I like the sculpt, especially the cowl. The pelvic 'gear assembly' is kind of unsightly. Wish his legs could be straightened to a normal standing position.
Funny that they go with the slightly smaller scale. Pose this alongside one of the full-sized figures, and it could be Batman's Super-Son.
That's a nice Batman.
paint job isnt as great as the prototype pics,(like it was something new lol)
This is a positively superb figure. I need to get out tomorrow and see if I can find one.
Next up - Deadman!

Don't care too much either way about the character, but it's well done for what it is.
Ghost Daredevil...I mean, Deadman, looks pretty amazing.
That possession mask is really creepy looking. Love it.
I like this figure, but I just don't know if I like the character enough to buy this. I'm trying not to buy every figure that comes out just because it is from the DC universe.
Green Arrow is up!

Another nice head sculpt.
Man I love that Deadman. Odd choice for wave 1, but awesome nonetheless. The mask is a great extra.
This line has got me so excited that I've finally got myself a Toyark log on.
I have GA and he is awesome, hoping to snag myself a Batman soon.
Tony B's latest is up:

Mr. Miracle is tempting, if only because, with the smaller scale of DC Icons compared to Mattel's DCUC line, Scott would finally be in scale with Barda.
I have GA and he is awesome, hoping to snag myself a Batman soon.
I'm digging the line myself. I'm ok with the smaller size. Would I have prefered it more in scale with Marvel Legends, yes. But, they are quality figs on their own, and if the roster continues to grow, it will be a really awesome looking shelf.
Hopefully some of you read this post quick enough, but as of this moment Amazon is selling Batman for $18 as a Lightning Deal.
I call this the MCU effect. Where now there are all kinds of extra lines and stripes for no particular reason. I guess they think they look cooler or more realistic, idk...

Flash is up! Doing one a day all this week.
This line looks pretty good, should I dive in? No thigh swivel annoys me but it looks like it can manage without it.
Awesome! Very cool shots! Most of these are on my short list
Can't wait to see Green Lantern!
