Gentle Giant Gamestop Exclusive Darth Vader Bust – Toyark Photo Shoot

During Black Friday, Gentle Giant released a new exclusive Star Wars Bust. The 1/6 Scale Darth Vader Mini Bust is based on his appearance in Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back. It is meant to evoke the classic nature of Greek mythology themed busts. It stands about 6″ tall and is mounted on an Empire themed base. The bust is priced at $79.99 and can be picked up at a local Gamestop or at Gamestop.com. My wife grabbed this as a Christmas gift and I took a full gallery for fans to check out.

Overall
This was a really nice surprise. The only other Gentle Giant statue I’ve reviewed was the Darth Malgus mini bust. that was a work of art, as is this. Darth Vader is cast, I believe, in polystone. It’s fairly light weight, but feels pretty durable. There’s no assembly required. Just unpack and display. The bust features different black and dark gray paints for Vader himself. there are small highlight details of silver throughout. The chest piece has blue, red and yellow paints on the switches. The paint apps are very clean and I didn’t notice any errors. The helmet is especially well done. The deep, shiny black looks excellent in person. It has the look of a film ready prop. However, the extreme gloss does attract particles and dust easily. So have a duster or paper towel ready to keep it pristine. Otherwise, this is a pretty stellar piece with a price that’s easy to swallow compared to other busts or statues.
