I love the X-Files, but I'm disappointed in these. I know that Diamond Select has mentioned they would be open to putting out more classic versions, but if these don't sell they won't. And if other collectors are like me, they wouldn't buy these versions.

Scully didn't fare much better. Either that looks nothing like Gillian Anderson, or she looks totally different from the X-Files that I remember.

From what I see these figures just don't look like either person then or now.

They kind of look like someone's customs that hust had a few parts to work with.

They look like caricatures of the real people.

    HA!

Diamond could take Freddy Krueger and make him into something that wouldn't look out of place on a child's nightstand. Everything they produce is transformed into a warmer, fuzzier, more family-friendly version of itself. (Who else could make an amusing piggy bank out of an Alien Xenomorph?) Scully and Mulder figures from Diamond were bound to look bland compared to the darker, more detailed versions collectors expect from another label like NECA or McFarlane. Diamond stuff is intended for the mass market: giftware add-ons near the cash desk at chain bookstores, music outlets, etc.

I hope darker versions are coming. I'd like to see good collector figures of Scully, Mulder, Smoking Man, and the Lone Gunmen.

such negativity..these look great! the outfit may be strange but i think dst nailed duchovny's likeness. this is the first new Fox Mulder action figure in 18 years so i'm excited.

Saying that DST figures are 'family friendly' is not critical per se. Their wholesome quality is what makes DST products appropriate for the widest retail market. DST figures aren't going to give your kids nightmares. Their Star Trek starships are great. And DST stuff is almost always priced reasonably.

These figures do resemble the actors to some extent. If I was designing them, I would try to depict them dressed in more similar colors, with Mulder in his trademark rumpled suit, and Scully's hair sculpted in her usual trademark 'bob,' which would be more distinctive and recognizable. And she always wore a certain kind of earrings. And a necklace with a cross. And she would be a bit more shapely. And I'd try to hide the knee joints under the edge of her skirt if possible. And her eyes wouldn't be squinting. The actress has big, bright, beautiful eyes. The mouth is very good, though. And someone did a fine job with Mulder's posture and facial expression.

Mulder looks alright to me...I can see the stylized resemblance to David Duchovny, but Scully bears more of a resemblance to Vera Farmiga (Norma Bates from "Bates Motel") than she does Gillian Anderson...
