Scott Free has jumped back on the scene in the DC Universe – his Earth 2 counterpart is now deep in the primary DC books, hooking up with the Justice League in Darkseid War. His updated look from the New 52 relaunch carries over, a slight modernization from his original look. The DC Icons figure represents that well, featuring a high level of paint everywhere, dynamically sculpted cape, and some pretty cool accessories. Let’s take a look after the break courtesy of site sponsor Big Bad Toy Store!

Overall
Mister Miracle is the sleeper from this wave. Layered in glossy and metallic paint on almost every square inch, he definitely pops on the shelf. I wasn’t up on Mister Miracle until recently, he’s popped into the ongoing Darkseid war in the current Justice League books. His accessories include a Mother Box for booming around and Aero Discs for traveling locally. This version of him is an updated incarnation of the original, modernizing slightly during the New 52 relaunch. The figure itself is fantastic and I’m digging him in the current books, so he’s a welcome addition to the team. Pulling the best from all generations is a plus for this line and Mister Miracle reps the new era well!
A note on the line so far – this is the end of wave 1 part 1. There are 13 more known and shown so far, all looking fantastic in preview pics. 8 (more) of those should be dropping this year if all goes to plan. I jumped back into DC collecting seriously at the end of DCUC, so I’ve been following DC Collectibles offerings instead since Mattel’s DCUC was so deep already. DCC has been great, but each sub-line was different in scale, sculpting, articulation and quality. This all-encompassing Icons line is perfect for me – it lets me build out a DCU shelf from all eras in a uniform way, if they continue long term that is. So far so good, the figures are great in the hand, no quality issues, and they look sharp. If DC Collectibles sticks with it this line has potential to be one of the best. Just gotta get over that smaller size hump!

Do you have a picture of him with the Mattel 6inch Killer Croc?
Anyway, He looks cool, he's just not my Batman.
Sort of a "21 Jump Street" Batman. I'm reminded of the period when Dick Grayson wore the bat-suit.

I like the sculpt, especially the cowl. The pelvic 'gear assembly' is kind of unsightly. Wish his legs could be straightened to a normal standing position.
Funny that they go with the slightly smaller scale. Pose this alongside one of the full-sized figures, and it could be Batman's Super-Son.
That's a nice Batman.
paint job isnt as great as the prototype pics,(like it was something new lol)
This is a positively superb figure. I need to get out tomorrow and see if I can find one.
Next up - Deadman!

Don't care too much either way about the character, but it's well done for what it is.
Ghost Daredevil...I mean, Deadman, looks pretty amazing.
That possession mask is really creepy looking. Love it.
I like this figure, but I just don't know if I like the character enough to buy this. I'm trying not to buy every figure that comes out just because it is from the DC universe.
Green Arrow is up!

Another nice head sculpt.
Man I love that Deadman. Odd choice for wave 1, but awesome nonetheless. The mask is a great extra.
This line has got me so excited that I've finally got myself a Toyark log on.
I have GA and he is awesome, hoping to snag myself a Batman soon.
Tony B's latest is up:

Mr. Miracle is tempting, if only because, with the smaller scale of DC Icons compared to Mattel's DCUC line, Scott would finally be in scale with Barda.

I'm digging the line myself. I'm ok with the smaller size. Would I have prefered it more in scale with Marvel Legends, yes. But, they are quality figs on their own, and if the roster continues to grow, it will be a really awesome looking shelf.
Hopefully some of you read this post quick enough, but as of this moment Amazon is selling Batman for $18 as a Lightning Deal.
I call this the MCU effect. Where now there are all kinds of extra lines and stripes for no particular reason. I guess they think they look cooler or more realistic, idk...

Flash is up! Doing one a day all this week.
This line looks pretty good, should I dive in? No thigh swivel annoys me but it looks like it can manage without it.
Awesome! Very cool shots! Most of these are on my short list
Can't wait to see Green Lantern!
