The beast has finally arrived! Back at SDCC 2015 we got our first glimpse of the Star Wars Black Series 6 Inch scale Tie Fighter, a gigantic vehicle made to work with the larger Black Series line. Personally I never thought we’d see anything like this in this scale but I am glad they rolled the dice! This thing is massive, really massive. The box is big but once it’s put together it’s a sight to behold. Hopefully these pictures do it justice but you really need to see it in person to fully understand. The First Order Special Forces Tie Fighter is shipping to retailers now and should be arriving soon at site sponsor Entertainment Earth. Check out over 60 shots after the break!

Star Wars Black Series First Order Special Forces Tie Fighter & First Order Tie Fighter Pilot Elite
Pros
GIGANTIC
Great paint apps
Dual seats in cockpit
Awesome mold detailing
Cons
Wings bowed
Need to find a place to put it :)
Overall
Overall this thing is fantastic. It feels like my childhood powered up. I was zooming this thing around making pew pew noises at the cats like it was 1983. This time I needed 2 hands though. It’s big and heavy. The paint is sharp and clean, and there is a layer of weathering on top to add some realism. The double cockpit upgrade as seen in the movie is here, both with their own window and control sticks able to be handled by the pilots. There are no projectiles, but there are moving guns/antennas on the top and bottom. The only negative here is that the wings are bowed. Not as bad as the recent 3 3/4th scale one, but definitely there. Not from weight either, was like that right out of the box. Overall if you have the room, grab this bad boy. It is a feat to behold. Now, where is my 6 inch scale Millennium Falcon? :)

EPIC.
Man, that thing looks great. Massive, though. Hang that bad boy from your ceiling. Love the shot of the three different size TIE's.
If I hang it from my ceiling flush I'd still walk into it. Basically, if you stand the box upwards, that's how tall it is. 24.5 Inches tall.
That's a game changing toy for Star Wars fans.
hasbro wont give us an Marvel legends GR bike
lucky SW fans
Hot damn. 6 year old me would lose my shit if I saw this under the Christmas tree ...
26 year old me would lose my shit if I saw this under the Christmas tree.
I saw this at Gamestop the other day, and was very close to putting this on lay-away, however, those cheap rubbery plastic wings are a deal breaker. If you place this on the floor or on a shelf, I can only imagine the type of warping that will eventually occur under the vehicle's own weight after a period of time. If they had gone with the harder plastic wings of years past, no problem, but if I am going to be paying near Hot Toys prices for Hasbro quality toys, I sincerely expect better, not cheap shortcuts. An awesome idea, but it should have been better executed. I'll pass.
^^
yeah..that thing is all types of awesome..but i was looking at the pictures like...why do the wings look like that. ??
i need to see this OUTSIDE the packaging..with my own eyes..
^^Yeah...don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to poop on people's parades or kill their hype for it. I REALLY wanted this thing, but with those crappy wings, it would be like paying for a Hot Toys Predator, only to find out that the netting is painted on with a magic marker, as opposed to being an actual fishnet bodysuit. For the price, the wings were a corner that Hasbro shouldn't have even considered crossing...
At least they didn't include any "action features" like firing missiles or blow apart wings. That would have killed the aesthetic entirely.
That TIE fighter pilot included with the vehicle is very cool looking though, I'll give it that.
Just for the record, not rubber wings. A tad softer plastic, but not rubber. The warped nature is not from weight. Either like that from pressing or due to them sitting on top of the round pod that ships in-between.
On this one, only one side, the right (left in the pictures when looking dead on) is warped on the lower part of wing. Other one is fine
My 3.75 tie - warped on both sides, top bottom , front back.
This tie fighter is all kinds of awesome. Put some red leds in the cockpit and this is one of my conversation pieces.
