These newly-designed Filmation-style figures come in 6” classics scale to fit in perfectly with your existing collection, but they’re not Classics… they’re Classics 2.0!

This bi-monthly 2016 subscription brings six of the most-wanted characters, newly-designed in Filmation style, plus a club-exclusive Evil Seed™! Scheduled releases include*:

Am I the only person out there who would love to see Masters of the Universe movie figures of He-Man and Skeletor? Sooner or later it's got to happen, right?

I'd LOVE a movie inspired line of MOTUC! I hope they can get the rights from Warner Bros, or whoever it is that holds the license.

I can't wait for the animated characters also! I think they look great. Hope QC doesn't ruin them...always my biggest fear when getting MOTUC figures.

Most of the major characters from the movie, at least on the villians side, have already been done. Just need a proper He-Man and Skeletor.

I wonder if securing the permissions from the actors has been a hold up to keeping those from being made. We got Blade, Saurod, Gwildor, and Karg...can't imagine what's holding up some of the other characters.

(EDIT: Ooops. Turns out that the Karg I thought was made for the line was actually a custom kit to modify an existing figure into the character. Pretty damn good one at that...fooled the hell out of me!)

They have not said yet. People are waiting for NYCC to see if they talk about it. They have only shown Lion-o and said the the sub exclusive is Mummy Mum-ra.

I am only doing the MOTU Collectors Choice sub next year because there are 4 Horde characters in it. They are keeping the same Classics package for it so it will finish my collection. Since they are doing new packaging on the 2.0 line, I am going to pass. I also don't need another version of the same people I already have just because they are more Filmation style. (except Evil-lyn I will get because she is one of my top fav characters).

Side Note: They only made figures of Gwildor, Blade, and Saurod in the Classics line because they had figures in the 80's. They are not allowed to make any other Movie version characters because they did not have Movie toys in the 80's. Since they already had toys of the CHARACTERS in the movie (even tho they were cartoon based) they only made toys of 3 of the new characters. (Blade is obviously Tri-Clops without the rotating eye head gear) They would have to go and get the likeness rights of every actor that they would want to make and they are just not going to do that.

They posted images of the finished He-Man over on matty. I'd link the photo but an admin edited my post for sharing an image from another site (why?), so I'll wait for Joe to post it.

I really like how it looks, but the ankles look weird. I'm assuming they changed it for added articulation, but I prefer the way the prototypes above look. Go look and see.

The image was removed as you were hotlinking the image directly from the website. This is not allowed. If you would like to post photos here, please either upload them directly to your post or use an image sharing service.

The packaging looks good, the figure has good and bad points to it I think. I like the head sculpt and the paint, but I hate the joints on it. It throws off the whole look.

    Those are ugly ass ankles.

I much prefer the new ankle rockers that has been used for the newer Marvel Legends, and with other lines starting to use them as well, I'm surprised that Matty went this route with the articulation.

Love the figure, well except those ankles.

Been real big into He-Man lately, got the Castle Grayskull on sale at Matty for 165 shipped and I've been buying older figures I missed out on. Hell I even bought a full size replica Power Sword from Blast Replicas. So, I'm down for the Filmation He-Man... even despite those horrid ankles.

    02-02-2016, 08:39 AM

You know, that He-Man doesn't look bad, if you ignore the fact that the body is just the same body they have been using for 7 years now. How about an updated body with double jointed knees and elbows for a change? After all, the lack of details does not make it look like a $30+ toy, so they could have upped the articulation.

Digging it, this will be my first Matty Sub, can't wait. I've heard the horror stories, I know. Just want me them figures.

Agreed on the ankles. Look functional, but aesthetically off.

Good for you. The stories do not do the actual experience justice. No story can ever top witnessing it first hand.

Might get He-Man, but I already have MOTUC ver 1 of He-Man. Could sell him, but he matches my Battlecat, and ver 2 he-man doesn't match that battlecat, and I'm not invested enough in He-Man to wait 2 years for Battlecat.

It all depends if MattyCollector has more stock. They just released Lizard Man in January. Check out my checklist for release and reissued dates:
