Packaging Preview of NECA Home Alone Figures

Posted on September 10, 2015 at 12:11 pm by Joe Moore under General Toy News

NECA has just tweeted out a pic of the upcoming Home Alone Retro 8″ Figures in package. Unlike previous Mego style figures from NECA, which come in plastic clamshell packaging, these look like they will come in window boxes. Details from NECA:

When Kevin’s family left on their European vacation, they forgot one little detail: Kevin. But as it turns out, being left behind has never been so much fun!

Celebrate 25 years of Home Alone with these retro clothed action figures from the classic family comedy without the family. Kevin and would-be burglars the Wet Bandits (Marv and Harry) are dressed in tailored fabric clothing similar to the iconic toy lines of the 1970s.

Each figure comes with interchangeable heads sculpted in the actor’s likeness as well as plenty of accessories: Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) comes with alternate hands, BB gun, zipline handlebars and Little Nero’s pizza box; Harry (Joe Pesci) comes with kaleidoscope, crowbar and drawstring burglar sack; Marv (Daniel Stern) comes with snow globe, crowbar and drawstring burglar sack.

Figures stand 6-8” tall.

Check out the pic by reading on.

Looks sweet///I am in. Where do I get a scaled Xmas tree. Like the Mego line....not love it like their usual lines, but I do love the appeal of the cloth. Some work some don't. The Home Alone works for me.

Don't know if I'm going to buy all 3, but I want the Joe Pesci figure for sure.

I like NECA a lot, they're my favorite collectibles company, but I'm getting sick of these Mego figures. I'm not a person who would know but it seems like if there were a regular Snake Plissken before the Mego one then the regular figure would have sold better and people would actually have the regular version instead of a doll. It's still really all just me not liking the idea of making retro style toys of things that never had toys like that to begin with, the same reason I don't like the reaction line except for the first Alien figures.

Usually around the holiday season I see Wal-Mart getting out various scaled miniature trees but I'm also sure that any hobby or craft store will also have them during the holidays as well if not all year.

But then there are people (like me) who really like these guys. They're more than just Mego retreads and more like an evolution. The Snake Plissken is what got me into the line and the Freddy and Jason ones are my top two faves of the line so far.

I'm glad that there are people who like the Mego line then since otherwise it would just hurt NECA and I rather like them. The Megos do sell from what I've seen (some more than others) which puts more into NECA's resource pool so that's a plus I guess.

Kinda off topic but wouldn't it be amazing if by some lightning bolt freak miracle NECA got the Mad Max license. I know Randy has said many a time on Twitter that the film isn't looking to make any licensing deals for figures but it would be rad to see 'em do regular and Mego style figures. The Coma Doof Warrior would work well in both styles. Fun side fact: apparently Immortan Joe's real name is Joe Moore, I guess it was in the comic or something.

Really? I didn't know that. Now I'm even more upset we're not getting Mad Max figures.

I'm impressed about the sculpts, but not sure I'll be getting these. I though these were going to be regular figures. I guess I'll decide depending on the price and whether there's something else on my shopping list around the time it comes out.
