Captain Phasma looks nice! I pretty much like all non-human figures, sculpts turn out better IMO.

Agreed 100% there. I'm not really into SW figures. But I want a Phasma figure, just not sure which one I'm going to go for.

These are pretty cool...glad I don't collect SW though. Will stores not restock wave 1 though again?

They should. Was at a Target last night, and they were already restocking the 2 Star Wars sections with new stuff. Someone already nabbed most of the Black Series. All that was left were 2 Chewies and a Finn.

Already got the 6" Phasma since Meijer stores got them somehow during Force Friday.

Great figure! Just ordered two more FO Storm Troopers and Rey today.

Ditto. I lean toward the Figuarts version, assuming that I can get one in time and the cloak is made of fabric.

The face of Poe Dameron needs special help. Those Marty Feldman eyes are never going to attract the ladies.

Thought the same thing about the red skull when I first saw pics.
Wave 2 has some nice figures I'm looking forward to picking up, and that TIE fighter I'm sold on.

The silver Storm Trooper dude looks cool while the others are meh. I need to see the movie first to ensure they are all going to be actually worthwhile characters. The Hux dude looks like a total dbag tool. Empire much?

I want to pick up Captain Phasma but there's a chance she'll be lame in the movie or it won't be good, so I'd keep the receipt and wouldn't open it until I see the movie. I know I already like that she's played by Gwendoline Christie, she's pretty kick-ass on GoT.

Something I just thought about and now have a problem with is the choice to make Phasma's cloak thing plastic. Seriously? We get an Emperor that has so much soft-goods he's practically a doll, same thing for the upcoming farmboy Luke, and then Kylo Ren and Darth Vader have soft-goods on their torsos where they don't actually need it, but the only thing that Phasma could possibly have as a soft-good material is just plastic for her. Because I'm just sure that Kylo Ren needed to have his chest bit, which doesn't even move, made out of soft-goods but Phasma can deal with the now hindered articulation thanks to a plastic cape.

It's actually rubber. I'm perfectly fine with it though, it looks nice and doesn't look heap like the cloth/fabric material that they used on Kylo (main reason I returned him the next morning after I preordered the SH Figuarts version).

Well I suppose in a military as uniform and imposing as the First Order it would hurt your presence if it was easy to spot which soldiers were female, I guess they're going for that legion of uniform enforcers and whoever it is under the armor shouldn't matter to the people they're ruling over.
She's an actress who hasn't really been in much besides playing Brienne on Game of Thrones, but she's pretty cool in that and I could see how some of those character traits might carry over into this role.

I was wondering why her armor didn't have boobs on it I though they were just doing it to reuse the stormtrooper chest.

Now that I see the actress I understand never had seen GOT.

Why would the armor have molded breasts anyway? I mean even if she had large enough breasts for it to matter I doubt the changed portion of the armor would seriously be made into boob-shapes. It would also come off as sexist for her armor to have breasts beyond the fashion that the original Stormtroopers had breast moldings.

I can't decide if this is trolling or... *sigh*

That Hux and the Poe are bought on sight. I NEED my Ex Machina stars.

a lot of real world body armor is, uh "adjusted" to fit more busty women. it's not a sexist thing, it's just anatomy. if your chest sticks out 6 to 10" further than you stomach you want more form fitting tactical gear for mobility.

The problem with long term display of figures that use soft goods (mostly black, or dark colored) is the dust! years ago a had a 12" Darth Maul on my shelf, when I took him down the shoulders of his coat were badly discolored by dust burn. It never really washed out.

That's not what En Sabah meant at all. The imagery that the other guy brings to mind is specially MOLDED gear to look like boobs. You know, probably what jestermon meant when he said it. Even if she had specially fitted body armor, how fucking stupid would it look if it was like some fantasy female armor bullshit. Or would you guys prefer her midriff was exposed too?

Yeah there's real world situations of body armor being adjusted for different people's bodies but the armor shouldn't be made to actually resemble breasts, rather it should be fitted to allow them if needed. It would actually defeat the point of armor if it were molded like breasts since the point of armor is to deflect or glance away blows and if it was molded with breasts then there would be a catch in the armor which would make getting hit by physical objects easier.

Hmmm. Now that you mention it...

All this talk about armor and breasts brings to mind nightmare images of George Clooney and Chris O'Donnell with bat-nipples.

I'm still traumatized, after all these years.

Brienne? Oh, that is the man girl, right? The one that was loyal to Renley and then Kaitlyn, then Jaime, and was trying to get Arya, right?
