Marvel Legends Tigershark Ant-Man BAF Ultron Wave Photo Shoot

Posted on August 11, 2015 at 2:48 pm by DESTRO under Marvel Toy News, Random Photo Shoot

A champion Olympic swimmer, Todd Arliss earned nearly half million dollars in advances for public exhibitions, but his dreams came crashing down around him when he injured his back and legs while rescuing a man who had fallen overboard from a private craft. He was told that he would never be able to swim again, so he spent his fortune in seeking any kind of medical help. Dr. Lemuel Dorcas promised Arliss he could help, and, despite the pleas of his sister, Diane, Todd agreed. As part of the process, Dorcas hoped to use his “morphotron,” which could imprint the genetic pattern of an animal onto a human. In seeking tiger sharks to use on Todd Arliss, Dorcas accidentally captured the Sub-Mariner as well, and Namor’s genetic pattern was transformed as well as the sharks’, transforming Todd into a superhuman, amphibious creature know as Tigershark.

Overall
Tigershark is definitely a filler figure for me. To be honest I did not even know who this character was until he was announced for this wave and I looked him up. If you a hardcore collector and your collection runs deep then I’m sure you were looking to add this figure to you shelf. For me it’s only a buy for the Ultron BAF part which is a must have character.

Some really nice shots there. Figure looks pretty nice. Not a character I'm too familiar with though.

I still can't get over how irritated I am that Ultron did not get any kind of individual figure and the BAF is from a wave where I don't want half of them.

And according to his bio, his "scythe" puts his victims into "comas." Dude's using roofies before doing his dirty work, I'm telling ya.

One of my all time wants! Really digging this figure. Good wave overall. Except that gummy plastic on the BAF.

No mention of the new body in the review?

You used the Ultimate description for Hank's write up. Janet isn't a mutant and neither works/worked for Banner in the main comics.

  16. Boy Blunder's Avatar Boy Blunder says

PLEASE fix the writeup - that's all for the Hank Pym from the Ultimate universe, not the Hank from the 616 comics (you know, the one the toy is ACTUALLY based on?)

Right, that's what I said. I get really irritated when people use the Ultimate version to describe the main version, a lot of people jump to Scarlet Witch being incestuous just because the Ultimate version is or think that Wasp is a mutant because the Ultimate version is.

    08-15-2015, 10:02 PM

I have to agree with you on that. 616 Hank had his issues sure but Ultimate Hank was a complete scumbag.

BTW where are you all seeing the Hank review? I'm not seeing a link yet.

I got Wasp and Giant Man and after seeing the movie I decided I really wanted an Ant-Man but I couldn't get over how inaccurate the Legends helmet is so I just ordered the Select one last night. I really like the Giant Man which I have with my MU display and Wasp is even better since you can use the bits where the wings plug in to hang her in a flying pose.

That exposed mouth on the Legend movie Ant-Man really bothers me too! Anyone know if there's any chance the Select Ant-man may look decent next to other Marvel Legends figures? Select figures are generally larger in scale, right?

Marvel Select figures are 7" scale as opposed to 6" scale of Legends.

One could argue that Ant-Man is growing larger and just barely started. The Select Ant-Man is a tad shorter than the average Select since Paul Rudd is only 5'10" but since it's a 7" scale the Ant-Man is still almost 7" tall.
