Pop Culture Shock teased their Street Fighter 1/6 Scale Figures over a year ago. We had seen a few initial teasers, but it had been some time since we last heard anything. Now we finally have an update. It seems that PCS has been working on the sculpt and articulation for the figures since then. They have been trying to make a super articulated figure that hides as many of the points as possible. Unfortunately, they haven’t been happy with the results and are coming to the fans, asking their opinion on where to go next.
The choices are either a super articulated figure, that’s a little less realistic and has most of the joints exposed, or a more realistic looking figure with less articulation. PCS is asking for fans to give them feedback on the PCS Facebook Page. Why not drop them a line and let them know what you think they should do. They have also released a few new images, showing where they were at in figure development (and a side-by-side with the Kids Logic Akuma). Read on for those as well as the full statement by Pop Culture Shock.
From the PCS Facebook Page:
As many know we are developing a line of Street Fighter 1:6 figures. Hot Toys style, not statues.
We have been developing for a while and showed a prototype at Comic Con 2014.
Ive been dragging my feet since then as Im having a hard time committing to the final direction.
Direction A: Hot Toys style – highly realistic looking with limited articulation/movement. A good example is the HT Hulk. It looks fantastic but theres no way you would be able to put that figure into a Hadouken pose. I collect HT figures so I know how limited the movement is BUT they look awesome.
Direction B: Focus more on movement and articulation and sacrifice some realism. Example, exposed joints on the elbows instead of covered joints. The exposed joints will have greater movement, but wont look as good.
I was trying to create something that was both as good looking as HT but with the extreme movement capabilities Id want in a Street Fighter figure. Unfortunately after 2 years of development its not happening. So we have to choose and get these figures going…
I want to hear your thoughts, especially if these are a figure you would be interested in.
Pop Culture Shock Announces 1/6 Scale Street Fighter Figures
That's a second blow for the Capo SF figures. If these are sold via Sideshow I'm onboard
im getting kidlogics ryu and ken. whatever they don't make i can get with pop culture shock.
i wonder how much these will be.
Hooray! Finally some new Street Fighter figures compatible with the Sota ones!
My top 3 wants:
1 - Hakan
2 - Oro
3 - Q
I'm kinda wondering the price point on these too. I'm also curious as to whether or not these will be giant action figures, or fully poseable dolls with cloth clothing ala G.I.Joes, or the recently released (and very excellent) Mortal Kombat figures by World Box. PCS releases a lot of high end stuff, so hopefully, they can keep these in the price range of PAK figures as opposed to Hot Toys. I'd kill for a slim version (Classic SF/SF4 look) of M.Bison!
Being that Capcom has worked with Jerry Macaluso before from his days at SOTA, I wonder why they didn't just go with him and an established company like PCS in the first place. I saw that Capo Toys responded to some of the backlash regarding their Kickstarter campaign, and it sucks that they had the legal problems after Toy Fair that they did amongst them, but now things are looking really worse for the wear for them. With this announcement, it feels like Capcom is allowing these companies to self cannibalize one another,...like they broke a pool cue over their knee, and tossed it on the floor between Capo and PCS so they could have "tryouts"...
My top 3 wants:
1 - Hakan
2 - Oro
3 - Q
I waiting for:
1 - Cody
2 - Gyu
3 - Rose
4 - Rolento
5 - M. Bison
Didn't they make these already, SOTA's rotacast figure of Ryu and Sagat? Because I already have them.
Pop Culture Shock Ryu Figure Revealed - The Toyark - News
If these aren't too overpriced, I might consider getting one or two. I love Street Fighter.
The 1/6th Mortal Kombat figures are amazing, and they're well priced, but sadly aren't available in Australia, and shipping is a monster.
I'm hoping that these are like that, only available in Aus haha
Will my Kidslogic ´s Akuma stand alone by himself?
Were are these for God Sakes?
Does anyonw has an idea? At least Ryu?
I'm just glad akuma came out first. If I had to choose just one, it would've been him, then sagat.
Update on PCS Street Fighter 1/6 Scale Figures - The Toyark - News

is it wrong that I kinda want these to be anatomically correct?
I really want to see how the females come out.
I want Cammy in Queen Bee costume (not the damn green beret outfit), Rose, Juri, and Crimson Viper.
Then Bison , Vega, and Dan
I would really want or prefer the articulated figure more than realistic. But honestly I would buy no matter what they go for.
Want list
1) Dee Jay
2) Guy
3) Geki
4) Cody
5) Scar less Sagat
I wish for once someone other than Ryu would be made first. No matter what collectibles of SF there are, you always get the same old characters.
SOTA were the best SF figures IMO.
If this company was to make Vega I'd be all in.

And amen to starting off with some characters OTHER than Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Guile, or Chun Li. I believe that the initial offering of Ryu (along with the questionable Kickstarter that came from out of nowhere) helped sink Capo Toys attempts at bringing us new SF figures, and it could end up doing the same to this line.
I think that super articulated figure looks ugly and nasty as hell, and they should stick with the "Hot Toys" style body, as the sculpting looks amazing. While I highly doubt that it would ever happen, I'd love to see a T.Hawk and Juli, (not just because he is my main...) but just to see the ridiculous scale he would be in with the other figures. Maybe if they do a Sagat....
On paper, it sounds like the realistic option would be more statue-esque. However in the comparison pics, it doesn't really lack much articulation! From what I see, the double jointed elbows are gone, replaced by a single ball jointed elbow. Everything else seems to remain, just more cleverly hidden than before. The new "realistic" sculpt definitely looks better.
Here's the thing though, the original sculpt, while having more obvious joints, would have most joints hidden by the clothing.
I think comparison images showing how these figures compare when posed would help fans come to a better conclusion.
Wallet willing, I am buying all of these. I had all the SOTA figures but sold them a few years ago when I limited myself to 1/6 figures and Transformers only. This would be the perfect compromise. the old SOTA figure aesthetic with mixed media at 1/6 scale.
oooooh-weeeeeee...i've never seen this post, nor these figs....
i'm all in for them...
