Boss Fight Studio has sent out a newsletter with an update on the status of their highly anticipated Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. Figures. The good news is that the kinks have been worked out, and the production of the Mauraders Task Force figures was a success. The even better news? They can start running the Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. Figures through the factory. Review samples will be available in August, with a delivery of the figures penciled in for the Fourth Quarter of 2015. Here’s what Boss Fight sent:
Hi Boss-Fighters!
This is the big one. We have the process rolling to our satisfaction and we can finally announce dates. But first, a little background:
When we started Boss Fight Studio almost two and a half years ago, we knew we wanted to do more than freelance development for other companies – our main goal was to develop our own product. Something without compromise, that we could stand behind, that would be among the best collectible toys out there. Thanks to all of you, the Kickstarter campaign was successful beyond all expectations. Since this was our first crowd funding campaign, the flip side of this success was that we ended up adding far more items than we had initially planned on, and development on those additional items took time.
As many of you already know, we’ve also been dealing with some manufacturing hiccups on the product for our friends at Marauder “Gun-Runners”. We’ve been intimately involved with the entire process, and Marauder is using the same factory that we’d already sourced for HACKS. We wanted to make sure that the Marauder Task Force figures were dead-on, primarily to follow through with our friend Marauder John, but also because, if the factory that we’re partnered with couldn’t get these right, it wasn’t going to be the right place for Vitruvian HACKS.
Well, we’re happy to report that the factory went above and beyond to meet the high quality expectations of MGR and BFS. Including completely re-running the entire production run of MTF figures, and hiring new employees to do exacting quality-control checks. On our recent trip to China, we were able to witness these changes first hand and reaffirm that we are partnered with the right people, who care about delivering top-notch products. Partners who are 100% committed to forging long lasting relationships, with both BFS and MGR, for years to come. The delay to our original manufacturing window was significant, but in the end, it will be worth it.
With production and shipment of the Marauder Task Force figures, wrapped up in June, Our factory partners were freed up to continue tooling preparations for Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. and have been working fast and furiously. Up until this point, we did not have a solid delivery window, and for that, we apologize. We know you guys have been waiting a long time.
We have been told to expect our first test-shots for review in the middle of August. This represents a significant milestone in the process and we cant wait to share photos with you all! We have also been informed that, due to the large number of items, production of our order will be split into two groups shipping approximately one month apart. If all goes relatively smoothly, we are looking at a 4th quarter delivery window. We wish it was sooner, but the complexity of the figures and sheer number of items will take time to manufacture. We can’t thank you guys enough for your support and patience. When we have more info, pics, whatever, they’ll be passed on to you without delay.
Best wishes,
Andrew, Fred, Dave, Erik and Catrina.
If you missed it before, the Hisstank and Toyark crew had hands on time with the figures. You can check out our photos Here.
Boss Fight Studio at NJCC 2014 - Original Figures Incoming! - The Toyark - News

Bring it!
The sculpt on the figure looks great in person. They were really excited for it. I was talking to them a bit and, like a lot of fans, they're tired of the 5 points of articulation stuff too. They hinted at some cool stuff being done down the road, and not just the spartan figures, but a wide range of themes. Really looking forward to seeing what they have planned.
clearly these fellows(and maybe ladies, I'm not a prick) have a vision. and...
AND....yes, please, I'm in. when they figure out the kickstarter, I'm in. full. on. support.
breath it in.
I wanna see that thing in different poses. The only thing I can complain about is the lack of a thigh swivel. Other than that, THIS is how you pique my interest in 4 inch figures. That thing has articulation that can almost match Marvel Legends.
Im in too. Im not personally into the Greek / Mythical stuff, but I'll support it as they move forward so they can do other things
.
One can dream.
Personally, I'd like to see some robotic or future-tech military stuff. Not a G.I. Joe clone, something unique yet still military. Haloish I guess. And robits. Terminator/Robocop/BATS vs Halo/Gears/KillZone. Or something.

Boss Fight Base Figure Sculpts and Stands Preview - The Toyark - News

Base figures and stand preview
more please.
I just want a 10 pack of those stands, x10. Smaller footprint than Joe ones, not as small as the other ones out there, can stop buying loosies with the wrong names on eBay.
so she gets ankle pivot articulation and the guy doesn't
I'm real happy with what Boss Fight is doing so far. I'm a little iffy on the hip articulation but I want to see one in person before I get too judgmental. Really looking forward to this release.
Edit: I saw a picture on their Facebook page that had the prototype posed a little and I am happy to say that the hip articulation looks like their take on the GI Joe T-bar. I don't know if that piece will be metal or plastic but it is one of my favorite (and in my opinion) best hip articulation system I've seen so far and to see Boss Fight use something similar has me excited more.
Hopefully they sell blank bodies too! I would love to get one of those to custom make a figure or two!
Q: Will you offer blank versions of your figure bodies for customizers?
A: That’s something we’ve talked about a great deal, and will likely be offered as a stretch-goal in our kickstarter campaign.

I think that the female figure's abs are a little too chiseled. Aside from that, the lack of thigh rotation, and the arm swivel being at the elbow, and not the bicep. They look good. I think that the guy should get ankle rockers too, but that's not that big of a deal breaker.
I was surprised they didn't decide to just do this outright since it's something customizers really want access to (and they claim to be customizers) so maybe they are guessing that a straight-up blank as their initial release wouldn't generate as much sales as a themed figure. I have faith in their vision for this line and I really think the blanks will get to the public regularly. I even think blanks on their own will outsell the themed figure line... As long as the figures are competitively priced.
But yeah, thigh rotation would be nice. It's something I think Joe figures are sorely lacking in.
Another, less important issue I have with rocker ankles is that they're harder to render compatible when swapping feet out. The traditional feet can simply be pulled off and plugged into effectively any other leg with the same kind of hole. But rocker ankles have a concavity that is proprietarily sculpted for the specific leg they're meant to connect to.
