Non-Attendee Details for NECA SDCC 2015 Exclusives

Posted on June 25, 2015 at 6:10 pm by Joe Moore under San Diego Comic Con

NECA has released info on how to acquire their San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Exclusives if you cannot attend the show. Here are the details:

This summer we have six awesome convention exclusives (one of which has a Toys ‘R’ Us exclusive variant) — and because the quantities are lower than in previous years, they’re even more exclusive than before! However, there are TWO ways to procure one DURING Comic Con WITHOUT GOING TO Comic Con… if you’re ready for a little excitement, that is!

1. IN STORE: From July 9th through 12th, we’ll seed a very small number of each in random Toys ‘R’ Us and Hastings stores all across the U.S. Which ones? That would ruin all the fun…

2. ONLINE FLASH SALE: During the show (exact time will be announced soon), we’ll make a small amount available online at necaclub.com – and once they’re gone, the sale’s over! Please note that you will not be able to get these on the Toys ‘R’ Us or Hastings websites.

And here’s the full list of their exclusives.

  • Friday the 13th – Pamela Voorhees & Young Jason
  • Predator – Ambush Predator
  • Terminator 2 – Retro Endoglow Endoskeleton
  • Rambo – Force of Freedom Rambo
  • Planet of the Apes – Classic Series 3 CONVENTION VERSION
  • Planet of the Apes – Classic Series 3 TOYS R US VERSION
  • Pacific Rim – Replica Mini-Figures Box Set

After the jump, you can find out much more info and check out some images.

Friday the 13th Clothed 8″ Action Figures – 35th Anniv. Pamela Voorhees & Young Jason
For the 35th anniversary of Friday the 13th, we have a double treat for fans! Our newest retro clothed action figures are the highly demanded Pamela Voorhees and her son, Jason. The original killer, Jason’s mom stands 8″ tall and is dressed in fabric clothing similar to the iconic toy lines of the 1970s. The figure features the authorized likeness of Betsy Palmer, is fully poseable and comes with knife and ax accessories. Young Jason stands 5.5″ tall and is dressed in a Camp Crystal Lake t-shirt and swim trunks. He comes with removable mud and debris from the lake. The packaging features custom artwork created by Jason Edmiston just for this release!

Details
–Retail: $50
–Includes Pamela and Young Jason
–Resealable packaging with custom artwork

Predator – 7″ Scale Action Figure – Ambush Predator
Paying tribute to the lost tradition of mail-order figures, Ambush Predator is inspired by the classic Kenner mail-away version from the early 1990s. “Ambush” is a prototype invincibility armor intended to be powered by the user’s own energy. It works… too well, rapidly draining the wearer and leaving a telltale discoloration around the eyes. Only Viper Predator has been able to wear it for any length of time, and even he reserves it for the most extreme occasions. This highly articulated clear figure stands approximately 8″ tall. Ambush Predator comes with two removable masks, removable backpack and two large battle blade weapons.

Details
–Retail: $30
–Kenner tribute
–Comes with 2 masks, backpack and 2 battle blade weapons

Terminator 2 – 7″ Scale Action Figure – Retro Endoglow Endoskeleton
This fighter from the future is also a blast from the past! Our glow-in-the-dark Endoglow Endoskeleton is a tribute to the classic Kenner Terminator 2 line of the early 1990s. Taking inspiration from that design, our team has applied modern sculpting, detail and articulation to upgrade the figure for modern fans. Endoglow Endoskeleton glows in the dark after being exposed to light for a short time, and comes with plasma rifle accessory. The figure stands approximately 7″ tall and features over 25 points of articulation. The special blister card packaging is an homage to the classic card art as well, and features a visual checklist for every NECA Terminator 2 figure to date.

Details
–Retail: $30
–Kenner tribute
–Glows in the dark
–Retro packaging includes visual checklist

Rambo – 7″ Scale Action Figure – Force of Freedom
Brave. Daring. Heroic. No man can stop him! Our newest Rambo action figure is a tribute to the classic “Force of Freedom” line released by Coleco in the mid-1980s. Featuring the likeness of Sylvester Stallone, the figure stands approximately 7″ tall and has over 25 points of articulation. Rambo comes with machine gun, compound bow, arrows and knife accessories for the battle against S.A.V.A.G.E., as well as a collectible file card with bio. The blister card packaging is an homage to the classic version as well, and features a visual checklist for every NECA Rambo figure to date.

Details
–Retail: $30
–Includes bio card, machine gun, bow and arrows, knife
–Force of Freedom tribute
–Retro packaging includes visual checklist

Based on his appearance in Battle for the Planet of the Apes, the power-hungry gorilla General Aldo comes with machine gun, knife and alternate hand. From Conquest of the Planet of the Apes, the revolutionary chimp Caesar comes with removable real metal chains, plus alternate hands and machine gun accessory. Also from Conquest of the Planet of the Apes, Conquest Gorilla comes with cleaver, knife, rifle, shield and alternate hands. Figures stand approximately 7″ tall and are entirely faithful to the original on-screen looks.

I actually prefer when exclusives are just repaints like this, if only because it makes it much easier for me to be okay with not getting them. If they had made one of their SDCC exclusives something like Karloff from PR then I'd be ticked because I really want that, as where this is meh but I can still hold on to hope for Karloff.

Actually, it's not a repaint of either the Nightstorm or Cracked Tusk molds, which are two entirely different Predators altogether. It's another Jungle Hunter mold redeco, with it's bio mask being based off the recent Viper Predator.

Thanks, was looking at it on the phone small screen here to do this, looked like the CT at first glance. Updated post.

It's just a repaint of Viper Predator with the second wrist blade and everything, the bio even says that this is Viper Predator.

I actually think it looks great while not glowing. I think that grey color looks pretty nice.

Anyways.. I wish the predator wasn't just a clear figure.. I wish they had gotten more creative. Maybe give us a little display background, and paint him so that he blends in with the background and have it look the way he did in the movie. Now that would be awesome.

I know they gave us those other predators that sort of worked like that, but I think they could expand on that concept.

Here is a reference photo of the original Ambush Predator. I really wish that NECA wouldn't have messed with the bio mask design. I do like that they are giving us an unpainted chrome mask, but it still looks nothing like the original toy's mask, which looked much cooler in my opinion with all of it's sharp edges. I also wished that the included the black "flak" vest as well.

At least with this one, they'll be closer to finishing off the Kenner line, with only two or three left to go that haven't been done yet, allowing them to focus on others. Those last two or three though are pretty unique looking...hopefully NECA doesn't take too much creative liberties with them and do them lazy...

i figured AMBUSH was gonna be this years SDCCE, when the teaser photo popped up
makes sense, the KENNER release was a DTC mail away exclusive
plan to snag both, AMBUSH and the glow in the dark ENDO

If they make Broken Tusk from the AVP comics then a glow-in-the-dark Stalker would be the natural repaint, or vice versa. I do think a Spiked Tail toy is one that they haven't done yet that would be the least faithful to the original, if they do. They can still make Clan Leader, Lasershot, Stalker (probably change the name because of the Predator 2 character), Spiked Tail, and maybe Night Recon (since they already did the Hive Wars warrior predator). Of course more Kenner themed but NECA original, such as Viper, are also on the table.

I seem to recall reading that these will be at other conventions as well in case you miss them at SDCC which would explain the "convention exclusive" sticker instead of a SDCC exclusive sticker.

It is possible that they could reveal something for those licenses as SDCC exclusive, but I kinda doubt it. I know they said they'll reveal some more Alien and Godzilla stuff at SDCC but I doubt there will be any exclusives.

That is lame, especially for Godzilla. NECA can't even give us an actual release date for the 54 version and replaced his May date with a worthless repaint.

To be fair the '54 Godzilla has yet to be officially solicited and those cards at conventions are never right for NECA, but the CVG Godzilla is a little disappointing. At least the '54 Gojira looks to be the best suit based one yet (accuracy wise) so it should be worth the wait and NECA has said that we'll see at least one new design for the king at SDCC.

Then they shouldn't put release months on them if they aren't going to actually stick with them.

NECA needs to release it already though as this dry spell of Godzilla stuff is getting annoying. All Bandai is doing right now is announcing repaints. It seems like NECA is currently doing the same thing.
