For their ongoing Friday Alien reveals, known as #facehuggerfriday, NECA has given us a new look at the upcoming Aliens Ellen Ripley 7″ Scale Figure. The image, an unpainted prototype, sits inside a tray to show the packaging layout. The figure will include a pulse rifle. The figure will be part of Aliens Series 5.

NECA Teases Aliens Ripley and In-Scale Eggs

About time. I know everyone wants Ripley but I hope we get some more of the marines and Burke. It can not be hard to get Paul Reiser's likeness rights. And I want Drake, Apone, and Vasquez. But that may be like wishing for more Humans in the Predator line.
They've said they have no desire to do a Burke figure as recently as November.

OMG Another Ripley Figure in the Works--- Can't express the excitement of the Upcoming figures Neca is shelling out--- we have a Bishop- likeness none other then Lance Henrikson, Dallas in Spacesuit- likeness to Tom Skerritt and 2 Sigourney Weaver's Ellen Ripley figures coming out including a 3rd.
It's funny, now that after all these years--- some celebrities are coming forward in the Video games and Action Figures genre--- for Years, Sigourney Weaver have never wanted her likeness on any toy--- especially from Aliens, she did get approval for her likeness for a Ripley in the Power Loader model kit Years ago--- but John Hurt never had a figure made with his likeness in all. ever wonder why there wasn't a John Hurt figure from Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull??? just recently Funko and Super7 made a Chestburster and Facehugger figure--- but NO likeness what so ever. Sigourney Weaver, Yaphet Kotto, Ian Holm, Veronica Cartright, Harry Dean Stanton and Tom Skerritt all reprised their roles in Alien Isolation " Crew Expendable" DLC--- I hoping in the near Future we see Neca's Alien Figures--- just like Sigourney Weaver did with her Ripley Figure coming out very soon

Sweet! I'm down for Ripley if the likeness is better than the figures from the first movie. I bet she's just one of those people whose likeness is hard to capture. Mattel's Gatekeeper Dana figure didn't look anything like her either.
I've noticed that a lot the Walking Dead figures don't always capture the actors' likeness, even though they get to do 3-D scans of the actors' faces.

Cool, but when are they and Ripley going to come out? She was supposed to be out back in jan.
I don't know whether it's true but there is a rumour in Who circles that Hurt will allow bearded figures but not clean shaven ones. Weird, if true.

This concludes my advertising for places to buy toys my local TRU refuses to stock.
I usually use the Pile of Loot from BBTS , so I wont ship anything until I have a few items in the pile. Sometimes I have let stuff set in my POL for a month or 2.
I've never understood the likeness thing, you get free money for someone to make a plastic head of yours.
Now, if you thought they were going to use it for questionable purposes I could understand, but this is a movie that these people signed on for and did.
With a movie like Alien, there wasn't really a need to include likeness rights for merchandising. That concept was only just being explored at the time (thanks to Star Wars). The thought of making toys was explored and ultimately shelved (with those designs becoming the first ReAction figures). It's only in hindsight now that those types of contracts would have been useful for these properties.
Now, to make new collectibles based on an actor likeness from an old property, toy companies need to seek them out and negotiate with each of them individually. A lot of movies and TV shows now have that legwork done by the studios.
Plus, to be honest, I'm starting to think my reason for buying the Alien line last summer was more of an impulse "I love these movies so much" type of thing more than my actually wanting to collect them. As such, I want to make sure this is a line I really do want to collect and seeing Ripley in stores before I buy her might help me determine that.
