Diamond Select Toys announced a Marvel Select Hulkbuster today in celebration of Avengers Age of Ultron. The figure will be a Marvelshop / Disney Store exclusive and feature a look from the comics rather than the movie. Check the official details below and pics from DST after the break!
In one of the most anticipated scenes in Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Tony Stark goes toe-to-toe with the Hulk in a massive new suit of Iron Man armor, one long-time comic readers may recognize. Dubbed the “Hulkbuster” armor, this massive suit was designed with one purpose in mind – stopping the Hulk in his tracks – and now Diamond Select Toys and marvelshop.com have teamed up to offer an exclusive figure of the famous armor as it appeared in the comics!
First appearing in Iron Man #304, released in 1994, the Iron Man Mk 14 “Hulkbuster” armor was an add-on to Tony Stark’s modular armor, one that would allow him to stop the Hulk from tearing apart a factory that was manufacturing gamma bombs. While the battle was a misunderstanding, Stark kept the armor in case he ever needed it again, and it has occasionally been shown as part of his “Hall of Armor.”
This new, fully poseable action figure was sculpted by Gentle Giant Studios, and stands 8.5 inches tall with 16 points of articulation. Like all Marvel Select action figures, he comes packaged in display-ready packaging with comic artwork down one side, for handy shelf reference.
Pre-orders are open now at marvelshop.com, and the figure will ship to customers later this summer. It will also be made available at Disney Stores across North America at that time, as well as on DisneyStore.com.
Hulkbuster Iron Man joins previous marvelshop.com and Disney Store exclusive figures Avenging Hawkeye, Mighty Thor, Unleashed Hulk, Superior Spider-Man, Unmasked Captain America, Bleeding Edge Iron Man and Electro. All are currently available on marvelshop.com and disneystore.com!
Marvel Select Hulkbuster Exclusive Announced - The Toyark - News

That's a really good option for those who don't want to spend a ton of money to get a Hulkbuster. That's a sold attempt for that price point.
Looks great! Fingers crossed that this will be available in the UK too. Would hate to miss out on this one.
Feel bad for those that overpaid for the ML version when the trailer came out!
I have been waiting for this day and I am glad that they did the a comic version.
i wonder how it will compare to the legends build a figure hulkbuster size wise? will it be bigger or the same size?
The Toyark article states that it is 8.5" tall. The Marvel Shop site states that it is 8" tall. Either way, I would guess that it will be shorter than the ML version, which has been stated to be one of the largest BAFs in awhile. And which also looks like it is significantly taller than the AOU Hulk from the Thanos wave (someone had posted a picture taken at Toy Fair of the two standing by each other).
why are companies so afraid to produce proper movie figures for these avengers/marvel movies?.. at this point it's getting a bit ridiculous.
I feel like this HB is too small?? Anyone else??? They put him next to my favorite hulk, the Disney store Silvestri one, and he is like a head shorter than Hulk. I really need to see it next to the ML Riders wave version cause I am still wanting the movie BAF one more.
I'm torn.
I understand why they'd shrink him down to keep him at a sensible price point, but maaaan. He looks really small.
I paid more than I wanted to have BAF Thanos, not sure I can justify that price for the Marvel Legends Hulk Buster when really the only figure from that wave I consider a "must" for me is Doctor Strange.
So, I guess I'm not so torn, after all! They both look great, so this version suits me just fine.
Marvel select scale is always whacky. But I'll make it work. I'm not sure why they don't just charge the extra five bucks as use more plastic too beef it up.
I love how MS continues to release figures that Hasbro doesn't or won't produce. Seems like a no-brainer for people who want that armor represented in their collection without paying a crazy price for it on evilbay. I came in late to the Marvel Legends party and most of the MS figures I have were bought because the Legends versions were too expensive. I mix both lines in my collections and I can usually fudge the scale differences with posing, rearranging and using tiered figure stands. Sure, the ML Hulkbuster has articulated fingers, but he'll probably end up standing in the back of a Hall of Armor display anyhow. I like that there is a cheaper alternative.
He will scale PERFECTLY with our 3.75" collection!!! It stands to reason that a Tony figure standing at just under 4" would actually fit inside an armour version standing just over 8".
