3A Announces Star Wars Alternate Line of Figures

Posted on March 11, 2015 at 8:18 am by Joe Moore under Star Wars Toy News

3A’s Ashley Wood dropped a really cool bit of info in their latest 3A H3ADLINES Newsletter. It was revealed that 3A will be producing a line of Star Wars figures, and that the line will be called (for now at least) Star Wars Alternate. Check out the blurb below:

Anyway, what’s been going on? Ok, spent the weekend discussing our upcoming STAR WARS line, which I’ll say is gonna be called STAR WARS ALTERNATE for now, that’s pretty exciting for me, coz I’m one of those f***ers that got inspired the day I saw the first SW film! Creative puberty hit hard that day, soon as I got home that day I made lego space ships and pretended to be Luke Skywalker, I’m not sure I ever stopped. So to be able to add to the story – albeit an alternate view – is a gift, and that goes for all of us who will directly shape this new world. Expect a proper press release and info, and I’m sure everyone will say Ash you can’t just casually announce, but hey I’m Luke Skywalker, and if I remember he kinda just did things his own way!

When more info becomes available, I’ll be sure to share it without readers.

I wonder if it's just more of this sort of thing:

The quote from Ashley Wood confirms that it is not.

I read the quote. His interpretations could still be very much like the previous "Stormtrooper". Time will tell, I guess.

I expect it to be more like their Marvel and DC offerings. Ash-ified versions of the Star Wars characters. I only say that as he actually gave the line a name and called it a line, as opposed to just saying "product" or something.

This is the designer who gave Iron Man duck feet? Strange aesthetic, ugly to me, but popular among some fans, I guess.

if the line ends up being more human like caricatures and not metal/robotic, i could be interested. yea no duck feet.

i heard they improved the legs on their figures. cant wait to see that as most of my threea stuff as lose knees..

Eh, if they're just going to be doing Tomorrow Kings with SW accessories (which they've already been doing or at least teasing), then the Star Wars Alternate label is a waste.
