Does anyone know if the R2-D2 model is prepainted? There's no way my painting skills could match those prototype pics.

So these are, in fact, unassembled (but pre-painted) model kits that turn into fully articulated figures. A friend of mine shared these pics of the newer Stormtrooper release.

So it's like Gundam model kits for Star Wars.
It's fine if you build it as is, but if you want it to look like what's shown on the box, there'll be puttying, sanding and painting. (I can see the big huge gap down the thighs and legs of Vader and StormTrooper's armors.)

This has actually made me want to start collecting these figures. Not a huge Hasbro Black Series fan, and their Star Wars 3 3/4 scale figures are OK, but I am a bigger fan of their 3 3/4 vehicles than I am the figures. With that said, the Bandai figures and vehicles are looking really good to me... expensive, but this AT-AT is so cool, and the rest of the figures seem to be pretty nice.
Dalong.net has posted a pictorial breakdown of the electronic 1/48 X-wing kit. I like how they showed a completed build with paint and stickers/decals along with a stock(no paint) build at the very end.

Looks like an awesome kit to display on a desk. Love the sound it makes when the S-foils switch positions!
