Our sister site, TFW2005 ran the story earlier this morning. Bandai & Action Toys are teaming up for high end versions of the classic Machine Robo Figures, which you may remember as Gobots! Tag Hobby reports that the new line is called Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos. These are highly detailed, fully transformable figures. Included are:
- Cy-Kill
- Jet Robo / Fitor
- Drill Robo / Screwhead
- Turbo
- Leader-1
- Tank Robo / Tank
- Shuttle Robo / Spay-C

Machine Robo, AKA Gobots, Returns With All New Figures

As a huge Gobots fans, this is what I have been waiting for. If only Hasbro could get the rights to release these domestically. I wonder what online stores will have these available and how much they will be.
I am pretty excited as well. As long as prices aren't crazy, I'll gladly snatch these up.
bought. instantly.
here's another angle. also via taghobby
Oh so that's Blockhead in the second pic. I don't remember the name of the blackbird.
The SR-71 is Snoop. Not exactly how I wanted them but I'll go for this anyway. I have a list of things I thought I'd never live long enough to see. 1 was Challenge of the GoBots on DVD. 2 was new official Machine Robo toys. 3 is still a good Lina Inverse figure in case some Japanese toy company is listening...
I only cherry-picked a few Gobots back in the day but they have three of my favorite characters in that line-up. Gonna have to see how this plays out with price.
I LOVED the Gobots, despite them being viewed by folks as the low rent Transformers. I'm for sure getting at lease the lineup from Challenge of the Gobots if the price on these isn't insane.
I hope they make a Puzzler. I wood love a New Puzzler.
I all so hope we get the last 30 ep's on dvd soon.
This is awesome news !
. So, he/it may be a longshot. But anyways...]
I hope that this line sells well enough that we get modern updates of some of the larger Go-Bots, like the awesome Command Center.
^
[EDIT: Then again, I think that the Command Center may have been designed by Tonka and probably wasn't an official "Machine Robo" toy
Coincidentally, just a few weeks ago, while we were watching the Transformers episode of The Goldbergs (it's a "meh" sitcom, but the 80's nostalgia angle is kinda appealing) a friend asked me if there were any modern Go-Bots toys, given the long-running popularity of the Transformers franchise.
I told her that there weren't any (well, at least none I was aware of), but I felt that it was just a matter of time until some sort of modernized Go-Bots hit the market.
I'm just so excited that this is happening !
Just to clarify, and I'm assuming that some of you big Transformers collectors will know the answer to this, Bandai owns the rights to the Machine Robo franchise, and subsequently is able to produce these figures, but Hasbro owns only the rights to the Go-Bots franchise, and doesn't have the rights to produce figures ?

So basically, Hasbro owns nothing except for the Americanized versions of the Machine Robo characters' names, and nothing else ?
I hope that this doesn't lead to another dispute like the one Harmony Gold and Hasbro had a while back
If the price point is right id like to at least get Cy-kill and Leader one and fold them into my Transformers collection.

As long as these aren't outrageously priced I'll get most, if not all of them.
I'll be grabbing these for sure.
These look great but where are Crasher and Cop-Tor??? I would most likely only get the main cast Leader 1 , Turbo and Scooter and Cy-Kill , Crasher and Cop-tor. BUT that Fitor looks nice and if they made Vamp , Scorp, and Pincher I will fold like paper for them.
(It's a robot chicken reference)
As long as there reasonable priced I will pick them all up.
I don't know why this pic wasn't posted along with the others, but it just proves that the other two bots which didn't have their alt modes shown in those other pics are definitely Snoop and Block Head...

Still have my original Cy-Kill to this day.
I love me some Cy-Kill but I would love if they did a variant in the Green and Black. I used to have both versions of the go-bot and I used to pretend they were brothers. Kinda like how Transformers have made Optimus and Ultra Magnus or Megatron and Galvatron "Brothers" at times.
Just found a couple of additional rear view pics via tag hobby. Interestingly enough the Tag Hobby post has this caption with the accompanying images (by way of a horrible translation I pulled from google):
"Action Toy new series MACHINE ROBOT Revenge of Cronos, sections of the robot is completely deformed, about 13cm high. Site template is already using the official production mold made out of beer. Scheduled to launch in 2015, introduced two bimonthly. Each different price, approximately HK $ 2XX one."
Wow, this is really cool! I still have a small collection of vintage carded GoBots (pictured below sans the green/black Cy-kill variant), but am very much looking forward to these offerings. Hopefully they aren't too expensive or difficult to obtain and are of sound quality. Glad to see Turbo in the line-up as he always was my favorite, but I'm really surprised they don't have Scooter in the inaugural set.
In case anyone is not following the TFW2005 thread for this line, another figure was announced:

It looks like an MR-05 Loco might be getting made too from the last picture.
They also confirm Action Toys is producing this new Machine Robo line.
