NECA has posted a pic showing the cardback for their upcoming Cracked Tusk Predator. This is our first look at the packaging, and you can also get the backstory to the character. The figure is part of Predator Series 13, and was originally due out in March along with Renegade Predator and Scavenger Predator. It looks like that release date may have moved up a bit.
Check out the pic after the jump.
Photos and Info For NECA Predator Series 13

Wow. I had Kenner version of 2 of those and a repaint of the other.
Neca Preds are hard to quit...
Wow...this will probably be the first series since 7 I don't get the entire wave of. Only one I'd be interested in is Renegade Predator. The other two are just straight repaints from series 10.
(Granted, I realize nearly ALL NECA Predator figures are 90% repaints but a new head or something would be nice).
Scavage is supposed to be a normal predator not one of those "super" predators and both cracked tusk and renegade are supposed to have removeable masks.....and renegade is supposed to have brown armor and his skin tone is supposed to be yellow NOT green with gun metal armor. Fail for this entire wave NECA......epic fail.
They can't do removable masks for everybody, with the exceptions of the Nightstorm, Ahab, and Viper whose masks are decidedly unique and allow for face-attachment. If they made removable masks for regular predators then the face would be shrunken down and flattened or the mask would be over-sized and silly. Even in the movie they had to make separate heads for Kevin Peter Hall to wear because the mask in concept squishes onto the face too much for anybody to put it on the mandible face without breaking those.

The original Renegade colors would have been preferred I think, but maybe they didn't want to do another predator with blue since he was originally khaki/yellow on the front but had a smoky blue on his back. They opted for the later individual release which was khaki/green on front and totally green on back.
Neither of these images are mine, so thanks to figurerealm for having that image available.

I'd be lying if I said I don't want the version we're getting. His weapons, particularly the gun, look cool. Plus green is a favorite color, so even if it weren't Renegade I'd still be interested due to the color scheme alone. Scavage is the only one from this set I'll most likely pass on. I freaking love Nightstorm, so the (in my opinion) weaker paint scheme and no new accessories beyond different wrist-blades means Scavage is not necessary for me.
I had Nightstorm dive a couple of times, bought NECA's bases and now he doesn't fall. It took some work to get the peg all the way up his foot, but it works and he stands triumphant next to his Kenner brethren.
Yeah, that's being super picky about those predators, obviously they are going to they to reuse as many parts as they can.
Honestly, I have my cracked tusk and he looks close enough for me.

I was always really glad these Predator figures were only $18 a piece, it felt like I was getting much more than an $18 value. So while I am a tad upset at the price increase to $21(according to bbts), it's not that big of a deal.
@Skoob: Is it a pistol? I wondered that when I used to look at the original Kenner toy. It's obviously some kind of gun, but when you look at how big it is in the pictures I posted above it's almost as big as his arm. I imagine that it's essentially a more powerful plasma caster that tests the user's skill more than the auto-aiming shoulder-mounted variety. I find the overall look of the gun is very reminiscent of the hand-held guns from the first AvP comic, which were more pistol sized, and this raises my hopes that we'll get a Broken Tusk/Dachande figure later down the line.
Now there's a blast from the past. I LOVED that miniseries. You're right: I remember exactly what you're talking about. And it seems to me that some of the plasmacasters depicted in the 2004 AVP movie were likewise humungous.

I sure hope Predator 4 (upcoming sequel) doesn't stink.

I don't know any concrete details about Predator 4 besides the fact that when Fox first announced it they forgot to say it was a sequel. For about one whole day people were all "WTF! How dare they remake Predator!" and I was in agreement, and then director Shane Black was all "No, it's a sequel" so I was able to breathe easy again. I like all 3 films, here's hoping I'll be able to like the fourth.
Regarding Renegade's gun, it could technically be any number of things all rolled into one. It could have automatic fire, semi-automatic with more powerful shots, cannon-like explosive effects, it could even have a flamethrower. There isn't much sense to guessing what it does, as long as it looks good with the toy.
I actually still have all my kenner predator figures.... Scavage was green, more of a lighter olive drab color with blue mouth, renagade was more of a traditional skin color with the brownish bronze armor. i always considered him to look more like the movie version back then. all original kenner predators had removeable masks. cracked tusk did have a cracked tusk but also his mask was removable.
If anybody would like pics of the originals let me know.
