Wasn't too keen on this redesign in the show, but it looks great in toy form. May have to get it.

Really disappointing design choice. Why in the world would they pick this version? Maybe they'll do the proper Batman the Animated Series version(eventually)but this IMO was a bad decision by DCC. I don't mean to offend the people that like this design, believe me. I'm a huge Scarecrow fan, I was looking forward to this figure. I'm just a little baffled why they picked this awful version.

They have said they plan to make BOTH versions of all the characters. With only about 12 figures per year (maybe 16) it will take a while to get them all made.

I am still holding out that they will do a SDCC 2 pack of Phantasm and The Grey Ghost, I want it to be called Specter's of the Past. Just my wishful thinking :-)

And I want Phantasm on a standard male buck. If you watch the movie (Mask of the Phantasm) Phantasm is the same height and build as Batman until the reveal scene at the amusement park. When she pulls off the hood, if you frame by frame it, Phantasm shrinks down to Andrea's size as the cloak passes in front of her. If that was the right size she would have been wearing 6 inch risers oh her shoulders and looking out of the chest of Phantasm. Or at least been in 6 inch heals the whole time :-)

In my mind she was wearing lifts in her boots, extra shoulder pads under the cloak, and a padded body suit to give off the impression it was a man. They did the dame thing in The Avengers with the RONIN character when they revealed it was the female ninja ECHO in the suit. (Ronin was first Hawkeye, then Echo, than Iron Fist I believe, then I think it became Blade)

I really liked this design for the show, but it didn't translate that great for me. Part of this look to me was the weird shape of the face cast by the shadow of his hat, here it's just one flat color and doesn't capture that creepy look well at all. It feels much less skull-like here on the toy. My gripe with his main design was the jutting underbite with occasionally misaligned teeth and the straw hair. It felt more silly than scary, plus that bright red sweater.

The face needs black. Badly. Scarecrow's face was about 90% black on the show. There's barely any on this figure.

Because it's an insanely popular rendition of Scarecrow, and largely accepted as the only redesign that improved from TAS? TAS Scarecrow was a farce. It looked moronic. Babies wouldn't find that old design scary.

And that they're going to do everyone in both designs anyway, as if that wasn't already blatantly obvious.

I find it weird that they would do Joker's hair black with the green highlight painted but NOT paint the shadows that defined this version of Scarecrow.

I don't want them to do everyone in both versions. Characters like Two-Face didn't change enough that I think it warrants another figure, the only real difference in his design was being more streamlined in the new adventures. The Joker would also be fairly wasteful to do a second time. I think Two-Face, Joker, and Harley Quinn would be just fine if they never got a second version. If DCC ever does Clayface he'd also be sufficient with just doing one design, ideally TAS for him.

I'd like to see Killer Croc get an original design figure. His redesign was okay but his actual episodes were better in the first stretch of the show.

the original scarecrow i thought was better... maybe im biased considering i only watched the original animated series and never the new animated series. im still awaiting the animated series version of batman.

I'm not a fan of either one of Scarecrow's designs, so no-matter which direction they went with him he was always going to be an easy pass for me. Though I'm really curious to see who all they doo in this wave. This should be another set of three TNBA and one TAS, so maybe they'll put Nightwing in this one?

As for them doing two of everyone, I don't believe that was ever confirmed. I remember their statement basically saying that if the line sells well enough they would consider doing the alternate versions of the characters.

Yes yes yes yes YES!! I've been waiting for this for a long time, Instant purchase! The only version of a character from TNAB I will buy from this series.

Will probably take a paintbrush to the face to add more shadows, but I love this design. He looks like an undead western preacher.

This thing is creepy as hell, and I will probably actually buy this. But I'm in the "it translated weirdly" camp.

BTAS was what made me LOVE the Scarecrow, and it's a bit disappointed we didn't get his more well-known look. But seriously, it's a Scarecrow figure that overall looks GREAT... It's gonna be hard for me to pass this up.

We could get the original, heck they could give it two heads (one for his debut and the second for the more regular) since he wasn't a prop-heavy character.

Besides Joker, Two-Face, Harley Quinn, and Clayface I thought of more characters who I'd rather see only get one figure:
Riddler (his TNA design was awful)
Bane (I'd rather see TNA because he was better represented in it)
    Mad Hatter (TAS)
    Batgirl

Actually I'm against most of them getting figures for both designs. Batman I understand since he's the star, Robin became a separate character so that doesn't count, and so far that's actually it for confirmed multiples. For most characters it should be easy enough for DCC to pick whichever look they find more satisfying and just make that one, unless there's strong enough demand for the other as well. Croc is the only one so far that I'm displeased with their design choice.

For a character I don't even remember, I'm actually kinda tempted to get the Roxy Rocket deluxe figure DCC has revealed. I knew they were doing her, but I did not expect her to come with her rocket... or that it would have lights.

Also, they're doing a prop replica of the GCPD badge featured in Gotham. A direct copy of the prop used in the show, and chromed metal? Definitely getting one of those.

I agree. And yeah I'd love both heads for Scarecrow. I still remember getting the old BTAS figure with the spinning scythe arm, and I remember wishing that he had the weird skinny head. I really enjoy both looks now, in addition to the one presented here. And the more I look at it, this figure is getting closer and closer to being bought.

Roxy is a definite buy for me. Hell, she would'a been even without the rocket. For some reason she was always a really memorable character for me, kind of like Creeper, despite the low number of appearances.

And you're right, the badge is slick. May have to get that too. The show has its problems, but I have a lot of fun watching Gotham every week.

Insanely popular to you maybe. I wouldn't even call New Adventures insanely popular. This version looks scarier, but it doesn't look like Scarecrow. He doesn't even look human. IMO, this version kinda ruins the idea of the character. He's not supposed to be a monster physically, that's the point. He looks scarier when he sprays you with fear toxins. Fear is his weapon!
In the Scarecrow's debut episode "Nothing to Fear" that's Scarecrow all the way IMO. Even Batman Begins was inspired by that episode. That's the version I know. Sorry.
Atleast we agree that the face is supposed to be much darker.

I think Scarecrow should in some way look monstrous even without people being affected by his toxins. He could scare his victims regardless of what he's wearing, the fact he dresses up at all shows he wants to intimidate people even if they aren't affected. Mainly it's for the audience that he's made to look a certain way, it's easier to believe he does what he does if he visually fits the part. I mean if he was always made to look like just a guy wearing a burlap mask, the Arkham Knight trailers would've sucked.

I always figured The New Batman Adventures was about as popular as TAS just because it was part 2 to what TAS started. It was a way shorter run, but it had its shining moments.
