DC Collectibles Designer Series Commissioner Gordon

Posted on December 30, 2014 at 12:00 pm by Tony_Bacala under DC Toy News, Random Photo Shoot

The Toyark is continuing it’s DC Collectibles Designer Series Wave 3 galleries today with Commissioner Jim Gordon. A core character in Batman mythos, Jim Gordon often gets overlooked in the action figure line ups. He played a key role in the Zero Year story line and gets his Capullo figure treatment to match. He’s a pretty standard figure, but well done. Sculpting on the jacket and glasses (not sculpted on the head) are key highlights. Read on to check out over 20 shots and our thoughts!

DC Collectibles Greg Capullo Designer Series Commissioner Gordon

Pros
Great sculpting, agian
Jacket detailing
Color palate pops
Accessories, which also fit in hands perfectly

Cons
None

Overall
Overall a solid figure in the lineup. No one rushes out to make sure they have a Gordon on their shelves, but it’s nice background fodder if you do. The figure resembles the suit-and-tie style of the Riddler and Red Hood, giving him limited outward movement in the arms and legs. You can still get some dynamic poses though with a pegged stand. Sculpt and paint details on the jacket are top notch, and the semi-removeable glasses are a nice touch (they are glued on one side). If you don’t have a Gordon in your 7 Inch Bat-verse, go for it.

Is this where all the DCUC articulation went?

Pretty much. It's figure to figure tho, each one has a different level. But the Bats are pretty damn good articulation wise.

So Gordon is Twitch from the Spawn comics, Does that mean that Sam is Bullock?? I really like how the Gordon looks but I might feel tempted to paint the hair white/grey.

Those heels on Batgirl are utterly ridiculous.

That's one of the best Batgirl's I have ever seen. Nice Pics!

The head on this Batgirl looks better than the new 52 figure, but I gotta agree with Tony about the hands being weird and SPLIT LIP about those heels.

Can anyone tell me if the Diorama bases are available separately or are they custom made?

A good figure deserves a good diorama.

I've always been a fan of Capullo's work since Spawn and Two-Face has always been one of my favorite Bat-villains but I really don't like how melted he made the burnt half. It doesn't even have an eye, it's way too messed up. I'll continue to hold my breath hoping we get either a new Long Halloween Two-Face (highly unlikely as it is but that is like my favorite look) or maybe an Arkham Knight Two-Face.
