NECA continues their line of 12″ head-to-tail Godzilla figures with the release of Godzilla 1985. This 6″ tall figure features about 30 points of articulation. We’ve got a full gallery and review of the figure, which was provided to us by sponsor Entertainment Earth. Read on to check out my thoughts and all of the photos.

Overall
This figure has had a bit of a bumpy ride since its initial reveal. NECA, after reviewing feedback from their fans, went back and completely resculpted the head. This was done just two months before it was scheduled for release. The process did push the figure back a bit, but it was definitely worth it. The modified head sculpt is a much better likeness of Big G from the Godzilla 1985 film.
The figure, as a whole, is quite fantastic. There is a massive amount of articulation. Ball joints in the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, tail, and hips give it an amazing amount of movement. There’s plenty of standard joints as well, which add some sturdiness to a back heavy figure. The figure is cast in a very dark, nearly black, gray. It has a light paint wash over it to give some added depth. Detail paint apps on the teeth, eyes and back are clean and also feature their own light washes to bring out the texture.
In the end, I have really no problems with the figure at all. For less than $20 you get a 6″ tall figure with a load of articulation. The proportions seem to fair a bit better than the Godzilla 1994 figure they released as well. Definitely worth picking up. Now bring on the 1954 version!
