Last week we showed the massive SH Monsterarts Mecha King Ghidorah coming from Tamashii Nations. Now Bluefin has updated with news on a North American release for the figure. SH Monsterarts Mecha King Ghidorah will be released in March 2015 and will carry a SRP of $199.99, though online retailers are soliciting pre-orders for about $10 less. More from Tamashii:
It’s a bird… It’s a plane… No wait! It’s Mecha King Ghidorah! Mecha King Ghidora joins S.H.MonsterArts in spectacular form like you’ve never seen before, with advanced articulation and out of this world detail. Mecha King Ghidora stands tall at an impressive 25cm and precisely placed ball joints in the neck and tail allow for unrestricted posing possibilities. The machine hand on Ghidorah’s mechanical torso armor is interchangeable and perfect for posing with your favorite classic S.H.MonsterArts Godzilla. Use of die-cast material adds to the authentic look. In addition to the machine hands, set includes three adorable Dorats and special display stand and support parts. This Tamashii Web Exclusive will be available Bluefin supplied N. American retailers.

Looks fantastic, I'm surprise they give you 3 dorats not just 1, those claw parts are just insane looking on those stands.
The Dorats were a nice touch. I would love to grab this. Just picked up my first Monsterarts figure on Sunday and I loved it. But the price is probably more than I can budget considering some of the other things coming out.
Yeah these are pricey.
As for MKG, yeah, he is pricier than I was expecting, but at least he comes out after tax season.

Now to grab a few more SH MA figures.

If SH figures weren't so expensive I'd totally be getting them. $60 for Godzilla alone is too much for me to spend. NECA's Godzilla figures are only $20-ish and are basically the same products with less pose, I'll save forty bucks and buy yet more toys instead of dropping sixty for one 6" tall monster.
No they aren't. NECA's 94 Godzilla is vastly inferior to the MA. The colors are wrong. The scales are wrong. The tail is too short.
If Hasbro can produce a 16" Sentinel/Galactus with lights & sounds for $60 then you're totally friggin nuts if you think I'm going to pay $80 $90 or $200 for a tiny 5"-6" figure with no electronics. You can just keep it for that price.

Yes the NECA figure's tail should be about an inch longer I'd say, but the solidity, color, and details more than pass my inspections. Even some of the youtube reviewers I watched said they didn't care for how light/hollow the SH figure was compared to NECA, hell one of them flat out said NECA had a better face sculpt going on.
Both figures are good representations of the mogegoji suit, and it's your prerogative to decide which you like more. The way I see it the SH looks like it wins the pose (if only so much) and accessory battle, but NECA wins price easily. I can't pick between sculpt or paint since both have their trade-offs.
As a collector who doesn't have cash to go throw where ever the wind blows, I'm happily choosing the less expensive toy to go on my shelves.
