MattyCollector Extends Club Eternia Subs Being Re-Opened

Posted on August 25, 2014 at 9:16 am by Joe Moore under Masters Of The Universe Toy News

UPDATE:
The Club Eternia Sub is now live. You have until 11:59PM PT to get your sub in. The need an additional, roughly, 10% to get the Sub to go through. Go Here to sub if you are so inclined.

——————————————–

Fans eagerly awaiting the outcome of the Club Eternia subscription from MattyCollector will have to wait just a tad bit longer. With subscription levels a bit too low to go forward (came in at about 90%), they have re-opened the subs. The new deadline is this Monday, August 25, at 11:59 PM PT. Subs re-open Friday at 9:00 PM PT. If you missed a shot earlier this week to sub, here’s your second chance. Here’s the full update:

Hey He-Fans and She-Ravers,

We are sooooo close! 2015 subs ended with about 90%. A great showing but not quite close enough to go forward. With the end of the vintage line (redone in Classics) in question, we truly do believe in our fan base. We’re going to reopen the subs for an extension window from Friday, 8/22 at 9:00 a.m. PT through Monday, 8/25 at 11:59 PT.

Now is the time to rally! If everyone who sub’d last year would renew, we’d be golden. If you’re on the fence or were thinking of cherry-picking, remember… if the sub does not get that last critical 10% there won’t be a line to cherry-pick.

So please, let’s all come together! All MOTU fans of all eras truly make Classics the greatest MOTU (if not all brands) toy line of all time! I know we can do it! If you’re holding out, remember, unlike any previous year you pretty much know exactly who you’re getting, with our absolute promise to finish the vintage MOTU line, MOTU variants, original POP characters, and A-list New Adventures and media characters.

Let’s come together and make this happen! We really believe in our fans, and we’ve got one last chance. All our cards are on the table… it’s time to go all in!

Subscriptions open Friday, 8/22 at 9:00 a.m. PT through Monday, 8/25 at 11:59 PT.

Here’s (hopefully) to a great 2015!

This is a total load... I'm sorry but why is it being extended. The whole Idea of a time limit means that thats it when it expires thats it.. As it was said 12 months ago "the time for support has passed"

This needs to happen. I have not spent a fortune over the last 6 years getting every figure for this to fail now. I need Rio Blast and Dragstor and Multi-Bot and Gwildor.

Rio Blast and Gwildor are coming this year, regardless of what happens with the 2015 sub.

Yup. He said regardless of the sub, all Q1 figures will be released, just nothing further.

We either hit the min and move forward or we don't and the q1 figures will become quarterly releases and Oolar will be a Sdcc item.

This is utter nonsense. The sub did not reach its goal, it should not be extended. It should not pass GO! It should not collect $200!

As I said before, they're probably going to end Matty Collector after next year as their contract with Digital River probably ends and they need something to justify having to pay DR for another year of service.

I hope enough people subscribe this weekend to get the 10% needed. I really want to see a 4 Horseman sculpted Saurod. Glad they are re-opening the sub!

This just further proves "Anything for MOTU" IF Doomsday Unleashed doesn't come now we have some real proof this guy only cares about MOTU

No, but Mattel plays this game every year.

POP, technically. The Etheria sub went through even though it didn't reach the quota. It was not actually given an extension though. Mattel said it was close enough they were able to work it out by reducing the number of extras they made for non-subscriber sales.

Nobody else was ever that close to going through by the original deadline. They met the quota easily, or failed by a large margin.

Plus, isn't Masters of the Universe a Mattel-owned brand? I would think the sub extension would be an obvious benefit of that.

I got the damned subscription just because I am tired of fighting the hoarders...oh I mean scalpers...whoops I meant the really dedicated fans who buy up to 500 of the same figure so they can sell them for a mark up on ebay and/or flea markets. Bless their hearts.
Oh and also subbed for Oo-lar...I have been waiting for that figure for years I tells ya. YEARS!
I can't cherry pick Oo-lar, and really don't want to pay top dollar for this on the ol 'bay.
A bare footed barbarian in a loin cloth. Yup. That's what does it for me.
Okay, to be honest, there are a bunch of MOTUCs that I want this year, not just Oo-lar, but what worries me is that I will not be able to resell these figures, even if I sold them at the same price Matty would be selling them for.

I love this line, but it really needs to end. The dilution of the line with POP and NA figures, is probably what caused the line to decline.
