Last month we brought you our gallery of the SH Figuarts Super Mario. The excellent figure was released with two additional diorama sets. After a few delays, and a broken figure setback, I’m happy to share a full gallery. Labeled the SH Figuarts Super Mario Diorama Play Set A and SH Figuarts Super Mario Diorama Play Set B, the sets add much needed pieces to make the Mario a more complete figure. Toyark sponsor Entertainment Earth provided the sets for the shoot. Diorama Play Set A includes a Goomba, a question mark block, two brick blocks and a stand with jumping attachment. Diorama Play Set B includes a Koopa Troopa shell, a Goomba, a warp pipe with interchangeable tops, and figure stands.

SH Figuarts Super Mario Diorama PlaySet A and B
Pros
- Great game representation pieces
- Completes the Super Mario figure
- More enemies and coins
- The more you buy, the more complete your sets are
Cons
- Additional hands and stand should have come with Mario
- MSRP is a bit steep for what’s included
- A cardboard backdrop would have been great
Overall
These SH Figuarts Super Mario Dioramas are really needed to make your Super Mario feel complete. The additional hands and figure jumping stand make for great play and display setups. Though, I feel liek the hands, rear attachment pieces and maybe the stand should have been included with the original Mario release. Looking past that, the additional hands also include peg holes and plastic pegs so Mario can hold the Koopa Shell. The pieces all look fantastic and are scaled perfectly. If you buy multiples of the sets, you could easily build out almost any of the overworld levels of the original Super Mario Bros. The one negative to that notion may be the cost. At $20 each, it could be a costly setup. Though, looking at a base $65 investment, you get a nice complete diorama that’s easy to display.
Check out a few highlighted photos below, with over 40 total images after that. Please note, the original Mario broke and I purchased a new one. I’ve added the included pieces into some of the photos.

If SH made a Link figure based on his design from A Link to the Past, it would be my first serious SH consideration.
its based on link between worlds, and correct me if im wrong, but isnt he the same link with LTTP design?, now i just want a kid link fropm OOT/MM

EDIT: I just noticed another big problem. In Between Worlds, Link has some kind of bracelet on his left hand. If that detail is molded onto the arm, I can't work around it.
Great pics Joe. I may have to grab a set for myself.
Thanks, it's a great figure. I really hope we get more, especially a Luigi and a Bowser.
For those curious, the ones with Mario backdrops were taken in front of an iPad.
I finally got the diorama pieces. Was shooting the gallery last night when Mario's arm busted.
Going to try and grab another Mario or super glue it to get this up. Was having a ton of fun shooting those pieces too.

Great photos! I just picked up a Mario from Barnes & Noble today. Man it felt good to walk into a normal store and grab one off the shelf rather than buying online. Anyway, it's a fantastic figure with some really clever joints. Not sure if I want the accessory sets enough to drop another $20 each on them, but they are tempting...especially when I can walk right into B&N and buy them.
