3A Gets DC License, Announces Steel Age Batman

Posted on July 22, 2014 at 12:40 pm by Joe Moore under DC Toy News

Warner Bros. and 3A have signed a new licensing agreement, allowing 3A to produce figures based on DC Comics characters. 3A is putting their unique spin on the designs as they re-imagine the DC Heroes in robotic form. These 1/6 scale collectible figures will be known as Steel Age figures, with Steel Age Batman the first to be teased. We’ll have more as it becomes available.

You can see the teaser after the jump.

Personally, I have found the Marvel stuff to be disappointing and far too similar from one figure to the next. I'm still looking forward to the reveal of this, however, even though I'll likely pass on it.

When it comes to armored Batman I like when he looks like a walking batmobile and loathe when he looks like Ironman with a cape. I can't tell where this one falls with me from these shadowy pics.

Cool design. Glad they didn't go with their typical duck feet design on this character, it works for some others, but not this one.

I hope Bats doesn't actually plan on wearing that in the arctic regions. Freezing to death would be an embarrassing way for the world's greatest detective to die.

You ain’t kidding. I thought the original version looked pretty tight though. Not so much their Joker.

DCC is putting out some crazy statues and whatnot as well so there must be idio... er, people looking to buy such things.

    i don't know. weird.

might have been better to armor plate the entire body instead of leather with odd stitching. the boots, what? what is going on with this?

It works for me. I mean, I’m not buying it since it’ll probably break in six places just taking it out of the box, but I like the look

At least one here. I nearly bought one of the first 3 versions, but I could get on board with any of the color schemes.

While I'm not 100% behind the bright-yellow belt, the rest of the figure gives me the contrast I was looking for.

This just went up for pre-order at BBTS at a $10 discount. Must have switched from Bambaland or BBTS made a deal.

I like the Arctic version but that whole getup looks like it'd be really cumbersome to move around in...
